Since ancient times, there has been a saying in Hunan that "without Hunan, no army can be formed." Zeng Guofan was the first to open the Hunan Army. In official history, before the founding of the People's Republic of China, Hunan was the only place in the country. Hundreds of generals fought with great achievements, which shows the prosperity of the talents of the Hunan people.

Zhang Hanqing was rewarded for his merits, and Yu Xuezhong was promoted to major general and brigade commander, responsible for recruiting new soldiers in Hunan.  In addition to reorganizing the original two divisions of the Hunan Army into one division, another division was recruited and designated as the 8th and 9th Divisions of the People's Army respectively.

Because the People's Army is expanding too fast, its important sources include the Zhili Clan, the Shaanxi Jingguo Army, the Henan Zhensong Army, the Ningxia Huibing Clan, the Hubei Army, the Hunan Army, and the Laofeng Clan. Each department and system is mixed with different ideologies, unlike the Northeast Fengjun  Originally evolved from a system.  Zhang Hanqing conquered Hunan and Hubei, and the territory became much larger. The original Northwest People's Army had military presence in both northwest and central China. The name "Northwest People's Army" is no longer appropriate.

In order to unite all forces, Zhang Hanqing reorganized the Northwest People's Army into the Northwest Military Region of the Chinese People's Army, and the former Northwest People's Army that entered Hubei, Anhui and Hunan became the Central China Military Region of the Chinese People's Army.

In order to prevent the military from being subject to regional discrimination and reduce the habit of serving the army, all officers and soldiers are required to "obey the party's words, be closely connected with the people, without distinction of region or nationality, and unite sincerely to unify the motherland."

The People's Army is indeed expanding too fast. Wang Yizhe, the former director of the General Political Department of the Northwest People's Army, is one of two leaders. He no longer has time to pay attention to the affairs of the Northwest. The political mobilization and ideological work of several units in Guanghua  Education and organizational development already keep him busy.  Many new troops and new officers do not yet fully understand the People's Party's policies. The reorganization of the army is mostly done in the old warlord way, and corrections will take time.

The 4th Cavalry Division, which was originally the elite of the People's Army, needed to be "mixed with sand" and reorganized. One of the five cavalry regiments in the division has been transferred to the 5th and 6th Shaanxi Divisions and the 1st Hubei Division. Even if it is injected into the troops originally stationed in Hubei  The vast majority of the troops of the 18th Infantry Division will no longer be able to form the main force in the short term due to extensive divestiture.

Only the elite 1st Division of the entire Central China Army can fight, and Zhang Hanqing did not dare to take risks.  I don¡¯t know what the situation in Beijing is like now, but history clearly records that the first Zhizhi-Fengtian War took place this year.

Although he has slightly changed the situation in Northeast China with his extraordinary abilities since time travel, he still has no ability to bring about qualitative changes in most events, such as Japan's encroachment on Northeast China, the Japanese army's interference in the situation in Soviet Russia, and the May Fourth Movement  , Zhiwan War

If a war between Zhili and Fengtian breaks out at this time, Zhang Hanqing has no confidence in retaining the territory of the two lakes that he finally won. Of course, he is still capable of retreating to the northwest, but it will inevitably add new variables to the future.

It¡¯s time to take a break and run the army.  In addition, future military expansion and preparation for war will cost money. To truly take root here, we must also provide tangible benefits to the people. It is necessary to recuperate the tired place.  Otherwise, the economy will not be able to prosper, and I will waste my two fertile lands in Hubei and Hunan, which are known as "Hunan and Guangzhou are ripe and the world is rich".

It's a pity that Jiang Baili was poached by his father. Otherwise, if he were here, the combat training work would be handed over to him, the party affairs and political training work would be handed over to Wang Yizhe, and the military affairs would be handed over to Ji Yiqiao. He could concentrate on revitalizing people's livelihood and think about it along the way.  One step.

    I need talents!

With this in mind, he made preparations for the Wuhan Military Academy while looking for talented people.  Before the war in central Hunan had subsided, Zhang Hanqing had arranged for a large number of mid-level and senior instructors from the Northeast Lecture Hall to go south to replenish the ranks of officers in the newly established divisions, and at the same time, he planned to establish a Wuhan Military Academy.

There is a paper mill in Chenjiaji, Hankou, which has ceased production. It has a large yard and few vacant rooms.  Zhang Hanqing established Wuhan Military Academy on this basis.  The foundation stone was laid on October 1, 1921 and completed on February 15 of the following year, covering an area of ??approximately 10,000 square meters.

The headquarters of the military academy is a Japanese-shaped two-story brick and wood structure with three roads and four entrances, connected by a cloister. The gate of the military academy is very simple in style. On the horizontal plaque above the center are the words "Wuhan Military Academy established by the People's Party".  Excluding the status of other political parties in the school was written by Zhang Hanqing.

There is a couplet hanging at the door of the second gate: "Kill all the enemies and stop; don't look back until you complete the revolution." On the wall to the right of the second gate is the school motto "The relationship between the military and the people" written by Zhang Hanqing.  There is a couplet hanging on both sides of the colorful building at the gate of the military academy: "If you want to get promoted and make a fortune, please go elsewhere; if you are greedy for life and afraid of death, don't enter this gate." The banner reads "Revolutionaries are coming."  (Is this scene familiar?)

The military academy is composed of six departments: politics, education, training, management, and medicine, which are divided into supply departments and divided into infantry, artillery, engineering, baggage, military police, and political departments.  The first principal was personally appointed by Zhang Hanqing. The five-star red flag was officially adopted as the flag of the People's Party and the flag of the People's Government, and showed the spirit of the young marshal. With the title of brigade commander, he acts as the division commander of the new 9th Division.  Saying they were agents was just a cover-up because of insufficient qualifications. Within half a year, the two of them became full-time employees.

As long as there are no major changes in the political situation, the northwest will have no worries about internal enemies. Therefore, the northwest military region, which is the base camp of the People's Army (this is the first time Zhang Hanqing has clearly proposed the concept of military regions to coordinate the logistics, equipment and unified command of various combat forces),  The focus is on military and civilian construction and as a reserve force.

Therefore, the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th divisions, which had no significant advantage in strength, were left here, with Xu Lanzhou as commander, stationed in Lanzhou, and controlling the military affairs of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang, and Mongolia provinces.  Zhang Hanqing suggested that Hu Jingyi should hold the post of chief of staff of the Northwest Military Region concurrently as a model for the People's Party's united front.

As a military assistant to the young marshal, Han Linchun was promoted to deputy commander-in-chief of the People's Army. He is now completely able to stand alone¡ª¡ª
