    ?

[1] A pair of poems in "Finally Married"

? Sigh that real men and women in the world are hard to be confidants

? May all lovers in the world get married

After Ji Xu finished writing the couplet written by Liu Yuchun, he looked at Biyu slyly.

Biyu was embarrassed by the sight, and asked: "What are you looking at?"

Liu Ji teased, "Why are you so pretty!"

Biyu went up and beat Liu Ji, "Let you see"

Liu Ji said while running: "Why did you hit me, I didn't look at you~"

"I'll hit you if you don't want to watch it!" Biyu was still chasing after her.

Ji Xu hurriedly stopped and said, "Sister-in-law, I want you to have a happy couplet too."

"Come on, come on, why are you staring at me~? I don't have a happy couplet on my face." Biyu thought for a while and said, "Listen, the first couplet is¡ªmay all lovers in the world become family members."

Ji Xu said: "Okay!" and wrote on the wedding paper.

Liu Ji asked: "Then, what about the second line?"

Biyu: "The next couplet is¡ªit is predestined in the previous life, don't miss the marriage."

Liu Ji gave a thumbs up and said: "Sister-in-law used two allusions cleverly, it is really a clever writing about marriage!"

Biyu laughed, "I don't know any allusions."

Liu Ji explained: "This couplet comes from the classical opera "Romance of the West Chamber". This "Romance of the West Chamber" is the swan song describing love through the ages."

Biyu was delighted to hear that her couplets were praised by great talents.

Liu Ji went on to say: "This couplet is also from the classical opera "Pipa Xing"[1].

Biyu smiled and said: "I really don't understand these things, I'm just talking nonsense."

Ji Xu said while writing: "A good pair often comes from the plain. The more seemingly plain the sentence is, the more magical it is. The sister-in-law's pair is really good!"

[2] A pair of poems in "Fortunately No Matchmaker"

The lotus root is derived from the lotus, and the apricot is not plum

At this time, Dafang opened the door and came in, saying: "It's really 'wonderful'!" She went up and took Biyu's hand and said, "Whoever knows me is also my sister-in-law."

Ji Xu glanced at Dafang and said, "Why are you everywhere?"

Dafang rolled his eyes at Ji Xu and said: "Sister-in-law is right, since 'it is a predestined marriage in the previous life, if you can let it go, then let it go!'"

Liu Ji and Liu Yuchun burst out laughing.

Ji Xu said: "My sister-in-law said, 'It's predestined in the previous life, don't miss the marriage.' Whatever you say, 'Just let it go if you can'."

"That's right, let you 'don't miss out on a good marriage'. Don't talk about others, which pair did you write?" Da Fang walked over and looked at the couplet written by Ji Xu.

Ji Xu said, "I haven't written it yet."

Dafang glanced at it, "Then why don't you hurry up and write!"

"You asked me to write it, so I'll write it~?" But Ji Xu still wrote his own couplet on the happy paper: lotus root because of lotus; apricot without plum.

Dafang looked at Ji Xu's writing stroke by stroke, and said, "Why are you so obedient?!" But she couldn't understand what Ji Xu wrote, "Ah! What did you write, what 'he'  Ah, 'Lotus Root'. You weren't a Pao Ren [cook] before, were you?"

Liu Ji came over and explained: "Princess, his couplet is a homophonic double association"

Ji Xu said: "She knows what 'homophonic pun' is, she only knows 'lotus root with rice'."

Liu Ji said to Da Fang: "Don't worry about him, he seems to have eaten a 'firecracker' today. The lotus in this couplet is the same as 'he', and the lotus is the same as 'even', which means 'how can I get a good spouse'?  "

Generously asked mischievously: "Yes? How can I get it?"

Liu Ji patiently told her: "This couplet just said¡ªyou see, this 'Xing' connects to 'luck', and 'Mei' connects to 'matchmaking'. The actual meaning is, 'If there is a destiny, there is no need for it at all.  Matchmaker.'"

Dafang jumped up when he heard it, and when he came up, he took Ji Xu's hand and said excitedly: "Brother, how do you know what I'm thinking?"

Ji Xu said: "Who is your elder brother? Who knows what's on your mind?"

Da Fang said: "Look, we are the 'destined people', we don't need a matchmaker at all."

Ji Xu took Dafang away and shook his hand: "What fate do we have?"

Dafang said: "There is a destiny, there is a destiny, I dreamed of you in a dream last year. And it is exactly the same as the you I see now. Do you think we have a destiny in a previous life?"

At this moment, Han Wo came in and asked, "Aunt Thirteen, who are you destined for?"

When Han Wo called her Thirteenth Aunt, everyone laughed. Han Wo asked, "What are you laughing at? She is really my little aunt." Turning around, he asked Dafang, "Thirteenth Aunt, I'm getting married tomorrow, why are you here today?  gone?"

Dafang said: "Oh, I forgot about the business, my bride is short of a brother to carry her into the sedan chair, I know you have more brothers here, so I will borrow one."

Liu Ji quickly raised his hand and said, "I'll go!"

Dafang looked up and down that little Liu Ji, "That tall bride, can you carry her back?"

Ji Xu said: "Your brother Liu is tall, let him go!"

Liu Yuchun also hurriedly said: "Okayokayhey~ I~ my leg hurts!" Biyu pinched his thigh fiercely beside him.

Han Wo knew what Dafang meant, and said, "Brother Kaiduan, please go there!"

Ji Xu said to Da Fang: "Then you go back first, I'll be there early tomorrow morning."

Dafang said: "How can I come tomorrow, your sister, it's notyour godmother said"

Ji Xu threw away the pen that wrote the word "‡Ö", and said, "Why is this a mother again?"

Da Fang smiled and said: "You are my god-son for Fei'er, of course you are my sister's god-son." Da Fang plausibly said, "You are many years older than my sister, you earn a lot~"

    "Who earned it?"

"Anyway, my sister asked you to go there today, afraid that tomorrow will be too late, and there are still many things to explain to you."

Ji Xu said helplessly: "Then let's go, do Aunt Gan."

Dafang said embarrassedly: "Don't call me aunt, we're different relatives."

Ji Xu said in displeasure: "What's 'everyone's opinion'? Isn't it up to you? If you want me to be your elder brother, you should be your elder brother; if you need me as your son, you should be your son. When will you be your grandson?"

Listening to their bickering, everyone laughed wildly.

Ji Xu walked to the door of the study and asked Han Wo: "Hey, whose horse should I ride?"

Da Fang hurriedly said, "I came here on horseback."

Ji Xu asked: "You don't ride?"

"Can we ride the same horse~" Da Fang shyly said.

Ji Xu said: "How can I ride with the elders?"

Dafang hurriedly winked at Han Wo, Han Wo understood, and quickly said: "I don't have enough horses and carriages for the big wedding tomorrow. Just make do with it and run!"

    Notes

[1] "Pipa Xing" and "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" are two of Bai Juyi's most famous long poems.  Interestingly, they were both adapted into operas in the Yuan Dynasty.  The former reenacts the love story between Bai Juyi and Pei Xingnu, a pipa girl. The opera works after adaptation include Tears in the Green Shirt by Ma Zhiyuan in the Yuan Dynasty, The Story of the Green Shirt by Gu Dadian in the Ming Dynasty, and Four Strings in Autumn by Jiang Shiquan in the Qing Dynasty;  The other is the love story of the well-known Tang Minghuang and Yang Guifei.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
