Chen Xin was greatly interested in the research and development task of the new aircraft.

For him, building a new aircraft only depends on whether his imagination is rich enough, not on other constraints.

But Chen Xin can¡¯t be too imaginative. After all, he has to consider actual production issues. Even if Chen Xin can make the X-wing starfighter in "Star Wars", the country can¡¯t even make a lightsaber.

This is the gap between the industrial system and overall technology, and it cannot be bridged simply by cheating.

Therefore, even if Chen Xin wants to design a new fighter jet, he must also consider the country¡¯s industrial production capacity. In addition to design issues, whether a new fighter jet can be built is also affected by many factors such as cost and technology.

This also means that Chen Xin cannot use overly exaggerated technologies. It is best to design and develop based on existing technologies.

For Chen Xin, it is easy to make the design of a new aircraft more advanced. After all, there are so many science fiction works, and you can just copy any of them and rely on the system.

¡°But to make the new aircraft more realistic and less advancedit takes some thought to design.

Fortunately, the place where Chen Xin was at this time was the temporary capital of the Yan Kingdom. There was a large amount of scientific research power and related information here, and Chen Xin had the authority to call on these information.

Chen Xin, of course, couldn't understand the specific scientific research information, but if someone compiled a catalog and introduction to the technologies currently used by Yan Guo in the field of aircraft manufacturing, Chen Xin could still find what he wanted.

For an aircraft, the most important thing is of course the engine, known as the heart.

Yan Guo has always been criticized for its lack of fighter jets. The biggest problem was the engine's performance and production and R&D capabilities. Not having an independently developed engine with reliable performance was once a huge regret for Yan Guo in the aviation field.

Later, after the efforts of countless people, Yan Guo finally made a breakthrough in this field, and the manufacturing and research and development of engines finally achieved fruitful results.

But for the new aircraft, Chen Xin does not plan to use existing aircraft engines.

There is no need to elaborate on the reasons. What Chen Xin is optimistic about is the electric propulsion system originally used in the aerospace field, also called an ion thruster.

To put it simply, it uses electric energy to electrolyze the working medium into charged particles, and then accelerates the charged particles to obtain thrust.

This is also a relatively common engine in science fiction works. It is usually used on space vehicles and is not considered to be used in the atmosphere.

This is mainly because the thrust that the ion thruster can generate is too small, or the power is too high.

Ion thrusters can accelerate charged particles to tens or hundreds of kilometers per second, or even higher. Under such circumstances, if a relatively large thrust is to be generated, the power required by the ion thrusters will be very large. At the same time,  It also requires an equally huge amount of energy to drive it.

Based on the current relatively mature technology on Blue Star, if the power of the ion thruster is increased to 200kw, it can produce about 0.45 kilograms of thrust. Although it is not eye-catching in the atmosphere, if it is raised into space,  After getting rid of the influence of gravity, this thrust is enough to push a weight of 2 tons.

Of course, this is an achievement limited by Blue Star¡¯s original technological level.

With the current nuclear reactor technology that Yan Guo has mastered, it can already provide micro-reactors with a power of more than 10mw that can be mounted on an aircraft, which is enough to provide ample energy for the engine.

What Chen Xin has to do is to reduce the speed of the ion thruster's jet, thereby increasing its thrust.

This is the same principle as that of a jet engine that reduces the jet speed and increases the engine thrust.

Kinetic energy ek=mv^22, momentum=mv, thrust is determined by momentum.

For aeroengines, external exhaust is a loss of energy.

With the momentum mv unchanged, reducing the exhaust speed can reduce the energy taken away by the exhaust and improve efficiency.

Similarly, keeping the momentum constant and reducing the exhaust velocity requires a larger mass of working fluid, that is, more air is sucked in.

So in layman¡¯s terms, if an aerospace engine wants to be efficient, it needs to push a large amount of air at low speed.

¡°However, for ion thrusters, although the principle is clear, its demand for air, that is, working fluid, is far lower than that of ordinary aero engines.

The current ion thruster consumes milligrams of working fluid per second, and the thrust generated is 0.1 Newtons.??If this value is enlarged to a level that can meet the thrust requirements required by a jet fighter, the consumption of working fluid is still not worth mentioning.

Taking the Taihang engine independently developed by Yan Guo as an example, its thrust can reach 13.5 tons, which is 132,300 cattle when converted into cattle. The corresponding working fluid consumption is about 0.13 kilograms per second.

This working fluid consumption is definitely not large. Taking the Taihang engine as an example, its air intake is 118kgsec, which is almost a thousand times that of the ion thruster.

So under the premise of also using air as the working fluid, the amount of air intake required by the ion engine is quite insignificant, even similar to that of an ordinary family car.

As for the power issue that restricts the use of ion thrusters in the atmosphere, it is no longer a problem in the face of the abundant power provided by small nuclear reactors.

After solving the engine problem, for an aircraft, all that is left is the aerodynamic layout, structural design and other detailed issues, and these detailed issues can be completely solved by the classic physical method of flying bricks.

As long as there is enough power, it can fly no matter how bad the aerodynamic layout and structural design are, as long as it doesn't fall apart.

Of course, Chen Xin is not that crazy yet. If he plans to make some powerful flying bricks, he still plans to design the shape of the aircraft.

It¡¯s just that as a non-professional, he thinks more about the handsome appearance rather than rationality.

Although according to a certain law of cause and effect expert, the better the appearance also means the more advanced the technology, but for ordinary aircraft designers, the appearance still has to accommodate the technology.

But for Chen Xin there is a system in place. Even if he builds a Gundam, he can still go supersonic, so when it comes to the appearance design of the aircraft, he can focus more on looks rather than technology.

After some brainstorming and reference to existing science fiction works, the final design that Chen Xin finally came up with looks more like a space fighter than a fighter used in the atmosphere. Although it is handsome and angular, it is  Not mellow at all.

And the most critical thing is that of the three propellers installed by Chen Xin on the aircraft, two are mounted on the wings, which is completely different from the design layout of existing fighter jets.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
