Faced with Zhao Ran's gossip, the monk had no intention of hiding it, because he said: "As the abbot of a temple, I have to consider the future livelihood of the temple. This golden-winged giant centipede is not unusual, but it is  It¡¯s just a folk prescription that is designed to treat the symptoms of distraction encountered in Buddhist practice Don¡¯t you understand? Forget it, it¡¯s very troublesome to explain, but it¡¯s useless to you cultivators.¡±

Zhao Ran saw that the monk didn¡¯t seem to be lying, so he didn¡¯t inquire further.

After saying goodbye, monk Shi Shiran left. He came to the Everglades mainly to catch several poisonous insects including the golden-winged giant centipede. The golden-winged giant centipede was already there, but there were other insects that needed to be found as soon as possible.  .

I don¡¯t know how far I walked, but the monk suddenly stopped. He felt that he had forgotten something, so he found a clean place to sit down and think hard.  After thinking hard for half an hour, the monk finally came to his senses and slapped his forehead with regret, thinking: "Ku Ye, my precious scriptures and the ultimatum are all in that cow-nosed hand!"

The monk hurried back to the place where he and Zhao Ran parted ways, only to see that there was no one on the lawn. Where was the shadow of Zhao Ran?

"After saying goodbye to the monk, Zhao Ran saw that the other party was far away, so he quickly turned around and ran away.  He specifically found that secluded place to hide, made a big circle, and ran back to the cave where he was sleeping.

After setting up a magic circle at the entrance of the cave, Zhao Ran sat down, took out the "Agama Enlightenment Sutra" from his arms, and began to study it carefully.

There is no explanation of the origin of the Sutra of Agama¡¯s Enlightenment. Zhao Ran stumbled to the end of the book and finally got it half clear.  "Agama" is the transliteration of Sanskrit, which is what has been handed down, or the meaning summarized by predecessors.  The sutra is very short, with only three chapters. The first chapter is the "Changming Bodhisattva Mantra". Reciting this mantra can induce evil thoughts in people's hearts. The stronger the evil thoughts, the greater the harm. This mantra has the meaning of advocating retribution for good and evil.

Seeing this, Zhao Ran couldn't help but touch his nose. Are the evil thoughts in his heart really that strong?

The second chapter is called "The Rebirth Bodhisattva Mantra". Reciting this mantra can transcend lonely souls and ghosts and directly enter reincarnation. It can reach the highest and deepest levels and can even directly cast living people into the six realms. Which one of the six realms it is depends on.  This is a blessing in life.

The third chapter is even more remarkable. It is called the "Meritious Bodhisattva Mantra". Reciting this mantra can save all living beings and lead those who are destined to go to the bliss of the West.

Zhao Ran has tasted the taste of the Changming Bodhisattva Mantra, and Zhao Ran can also imagine the general scene of the Reborn Bodhisattva Mantra. Zhao Ran has no idea what the effect will be after reciting the Merit Bodhisattva Mantra.

Zhao Ran is a time traveler and has no prejudice against Buddhism, but after all, compared to being a monk, he would rather live a free and easy Taoist life, not to mention that he has received more than two years of orthodox Taoist education after coming to this world, which can be regarded as  There is some sense of responsibility as a Taoist priest.  But this does not prevent him from understanding Buddhist techniques. It is not a bad thing to even try it briefly if possible. As the saying goes, if you know yourself and the enemy, you will never be in danger.

He remembered that Monk Jue Yuan once mentioned that cultivating the Tao is all about one's foundation and aptitude, while cultivating Buddhism is all about understanding. For humans, understanding cannot be measured concretely. Therefore, Buddhism believes that everyone can practice Buddhism.  The results of practice vary greatly depending on your understanding.

According to this understanding, Zhao Ran should also have understanding, but it is not clear whether it is high or low.  Now that you have the understanding, you can try to practice Buddhist techniques.

But it is a pity that Zhao Ran discovered that he could not cultivate for the time being when he interpreted the comments of predecessors included in the scriptures.  Although this sutra contains all the necessary steps of practice from beginning to end, the key point is that there are two links in which he is helpless.

The whole step is very simple. It is nothing more than chanting the mantra continuously. It must be sincerely respectful and repentant. It pays attention to the understanding of the scriptures when reciting, the visualization of the artistic conception of the mantra, and finally achieves the induction of Buddha nature -  ¡ªThe annotation also has a specific description of "Buddha nature", which is the black and white factors in the Buddha's light.

Mr. Tong once taught Zhao Ran how to "see" "Qi", and Mr. Tong said that "Qi" is what Buddhism calls light. Jue Yuan also mentioned that "light" is "nature".  Zhao Ran's problem is that he has no bones and cannot be compatible with "Qi". In the Taoist cultivation system, there is no future for cultivating people like him.  So Zhao Ran now wants to change it and try the Buddhist method system to see if he can be consistent with the Buddha's "light" or Buddha's "nature".

"But practice should never be taken out of context. Just randomly excerpting a passage of scripture and a method to practice is asking for death.  Regardless of Buddhism or Taoism, its practice is supported by a complete ideological system. Without an overall understanding of this ideological system, it is impossible to fundamentally understand and comprehend the method you want to practice.

And now he wants to practice Buddhist techniques, the two of which are "understanding" and "contemplation"He couldn't pass through the pass - he hadn't even read the most basic Buddhist scriptures. How could he understand and visualize it?  This problem is easier to understand from another angle: without reading the Four Sons of Taoism, it is impossible to practice Taoism anyway.

Therefore, Zhao Ran could only dejectedly stop his attempt and wait until he has the opportunity to obtain Buddhist scriptures to study in the future.

When he turned to the last page of "Ahan's Enlightenment Sutra", a light yellow page slipped out. Zhao Ran picked it up and saw that it turned out to be the ultimatum of Monk Jueyuan.  On the right hand side is a large row of unclear titles and dharma titles. In the middle, a line of large characters reads "Disciple Jueyuan received the ordination," and on the left are several seals and signatures.

Zhao Ran had an idea, took out the string from his waist, and tried it on the ultimatum, but there was no response from the string.  He was about to write and change the word "Jueyuan" to "Zhao Ran", but then he thought that such a random change would be too childish and unreliable, so he hesitated to do it. After all, this certificate belonged to Jueyuan.  It's really unreasonable for the guy who is eating to destroy it so easily - in fact, the key point is that it is useless.  Of course, he did not rule out the possibility of giving it a try when there was a second ultimatum in the future.

The first attempt at practicing Buddhism was unsuccessful and Zhao Ran decided to go out for a walk after sitting in the cave with nothing to do.  He is not afraid of meeting the monk Jueyuan. Anyway, it's not like he can't defeat him. At worst, it would be good to have more experience if they meet again and fight again.  The worst possibility is to return the scriptures and the ultimatum to Jue Yuan. He has a photographic memory and has already memorized the scriptures, so there is no loss in returning them.

After putting away the formation disk, Zhao Ran came out of the cave, thought for a moment at the entrance of the cave, and then planned to explore the way to the Zoige Snow Mountain.  On the one hand, you can find your beautiful sister, and on the other hand, you can also find some ferocious beasts and poisonous insects to hone your formation skills, which can increase your experience points.

"Yesterday's three consecutive battles made Zhao Ran's self-confidence somewhat inflated. He even imagined that maybe the beautiful sister had encountered an accident and was waiting for him to show off her power?

The Ruoergai Snow Mountain is very eye-catching. From any corner of the great swamp, as long as you look up, you can see the white peak. It is like a passage connecting heaven and earth. There seems to always be a sharp point deep above the clouds.

Zhao Ran turned around the hillside, walked through the woods, around the swamp, and waded through the shallow stream Well, actually, the method of traveling in the swamp was the same.  By noon, Zhao Ran had walked about three or four miles, during which he controlled a formation to hunt down a swarm of poisonous bees, and was now feasting on the hive.

After finishing the honey in the hive, Zhao Ran threw it aside. When he was thinking about what to catch for lunch to fill his stomach, he stopped.

Another monk came over from the opposite side, but it was not Jue Yuan.

This monk is very old and not as handsome as Jue Yuan, but in Zhao Ran¡¯s words, he is quite temperamental!  He was wearing a brocade robe and cassock, with a string of green jade Buddhist beads hanging on his chest. He was so majestic in every gesture, and his whole person exuded a strong aura of heroism.

Judging from his appearance alone, Zhao Ran had a pretty good impression of this monk. With the presence of Monk Jue Yuan, he was not very nervous about meeting this monk. Of course, no matter what the circumstances, he must first ensure his safety.  Safety came first, so he quietly set up the magic circle before the monk came over.

"Amitabha, the poor monk has paid homage to this little Taoist priest." The great monk twisted beads with one hand and saluted with the other, his attitude was quite amiable.

Seeing that the monk entered the scope of his magic circle without any precautions, and with very thoughtful etiquette, Zhao Ran's favorable impression of him increased by three points: "Master is merciful, I have seen the master on the road."

"If you don't dare to be a master, the little Taoist priest can just call the poor monk the great monk The poor monk is looking for a female donor. I wonder if the little Taoist priest has seen her before?"

"Who is the great monk talking about?"

"This female benefactor has an outstanding appearance and unfathomable cultivation. She carries a glazed palace lantern and rides a sika deer. She is known as Qigu. I wonder where she is now. Can the Taoist priest tell me?"
