Chapter 4785 Fierce battle in the south of the city

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

The southern part of Saslim was penetrated by mercenary troops, and more than 700 remnants of the secret society's armed forces were defending in the Tata area closest to the outskirts of the city.

Although the battle situation is stalemate, it seems that if the mercenaries want to enter the city, Tata District will bear the brunt. There is a 3-kilometer gap between the eastern end of Tata District and other secret society armed defense lines. There is only one team of Red Devil troops in the northern gap.  The main force was guarded by more than 400 people, and there were also several newly arrived Orumi infantry companies mixed in the defense area.

There are more than 1,000 mercenary troops, plus more than 5,000 people from the Western Sahara Popular Front from the north and 3,000 people drawn from local militia forces such as Hassan. In fact, the total force available to Lin Rui is actually less than 10,000.

How much force will be used to attack Tata District?  How many troops should be used to attack the defensive gap on the north side?  These are difficult questions.

The current situation is very complex.  The secret society currently only has about 10,000 people. The main force composed of the Red Devil troops is concentrated in the city area, and a large number of them are preparing to establish a defense line in the northwest.  Keep the enemy troops out of the defense line in the northwest suburbs.  Troops of the Popular Front for Western Sahara have been violently attacking areas north of the city.  Their efficiency was good, and some of the enemy troops were eliminated, leaving only those in the arc-shaped defense zone inside the Beicheng District.

¡°But this part of the enemy is the main force of the secret society¡¯s armed forces. Even though the troops of the Western Sahara Popular Front took advantage of the surprise attack and artillery cover in the early stage of the battle, they still failed to crack this hard nut.

The long arc-shaped area from the southern end of the city to the southern part of the inner city defense circle is where Lin Rui and others are currently located.  Lin Rui initially only had a main force of more than 700 mercenaries and less than 20 combat vehicles. Facing the secret society armed forces of the Eastern Front that were about to attack, he could barely gain a foothold in the south of the city.  But if the secret society troops from the north or northwest came down the ring road, Lin Rui would have to bite the bullet and continue.

If the enemy forces in the north of the city stabilize their defensive posture, or completely defeat the armed cluster of the Popular Front of Western Sahara at the northern end of the defense circle, then most of the enemy forces will come over.  And no matter how many people came over, Lin Rui had to take over.

So it seems that Lin Rui has a certain advantage in the south of the city, but this advantage is difficult to last.  Lin Rui himself understands this.

A company commander under General Hassan called and said that his company's defense area could be extended for another meter to the northwest to help Lin Rui share the pressure as much as possible.  Lin Rui knew that this was Hassan's instruction, and he also knew that he would definitely owe Hassan this favor this time.

Because Lin Rui doesn't believe that Hassan's company can completely defend the defense line, this should be impossible.  The most likely possibility is that Hassan instructs his men to extend the defense line to protect himself. At this critical moment when both sides are short of troops, they really reached out to give him a hand.

Groups of secret society troops continued to rush out from the west, but there were no tanks. It seemed that they had indeed concentrated in the northwest. Only a few sparse infantry vehicles rushed in front, bang bang bang bang bang  A series of muzzle flashes flickered in the buildings in the south of the city.

Some 81mm and 120mm mortar shells flew over and exploded aimlessly nearby. Some of the mortar shells exploded a few hundred meters in front of the mercenary troops. Obviously, these secret society militants had already estimated the mercenary troops.  The approximate location, but the precise location of the target was not found.

As the secret society's armed forces advanced, the small-caliber machine guns of the infantry fighting vehicles opened fire as they marched. The shells hit the opposite position one after another and exploded with flashes of fire. If they found any position to fire, the small-caliber machine guns would fire at several locations.  It started shooting directly from a distance of a hundred meters.

Eric of the sniper team leaned out of the window. His sniper rifle knocked down several secret society militants who were rushing close to the wall a hundred meters to the right. Then he turned around and looked to the left. He saw a dozen armed men.  The elements have counterattacked.

He secretly said, "No!"  He deliberately exposed his position, fired continuously with his sniper rifle, then bowed down, picked up the gun and ran away.  He made two or three turns and rushed to the staircase he had been waiting for. He leaned against the wall and held his breath to listen to what was going on below.

After a long wait, the sound of gunfire outside kept coming. It was not easy to hear clearly what the enemy was doing.

Boom!  A bright fireball erupted in the stairwell, and the flames rolled up!

"Damn it, grenade!" Eric clung to the wall to avoid the air wave.

The windows and exterior walls of several rooms behind exploded violently. The shock wave hit the second-story wall and blew away several glass doors in the corridor. Broken glass flew like raindrops.

Eric continued to retreat back with the members of the sniper team. On the floor below, the emergency lights shone dimly.  A bearded man in his thirties stood in the front, and a woman hugged a little girl of three or four years old and shrank shivering behind the man. The little girl opened her eyes wide in fear.  Apparently they were local residents who had not had time to evacuate.

Eric told them they must leave immediately.¡°The men hurriedly helped them lead the way, and it was much easier to get out.  The man was in the front, the woman was holding the little girl in the middle, and several snipers were guarding behind with guns in hand. The group of people groped their way out from the east.

The artillery shells of the Orumi federal army exploded one after another, and bullets flew everywhere.  A few civilians didn't know how to find cover and move forward.  The bearded locals were extremely nervous, but because they were very familiar with the nearby terrain, they still helped them guide the route through buildings and ruins as much as possible, with women and children following closely behind.

The ground shook violently, and there was an earth-shattering explosion behind him. Eric turned around and pushed the woman to sit down on the edge of the flower pond, leaning across to protect the little girl.

Pieces of debris fell from the sky, and a large piece of bricks hit Eric's backpack on his back, knocking him staggering. Stars flashed in front of his eyes, but he still subconsciously held the little girl in his arms with his left hand.  inside.

"Let's go, it's not safe here." Eric let them go, said in a low voice, and then continued on the road with his brothers.

¡°What¡¯s wrong with this guy?¡± a sniper asked his companion.  Because Eric is an anomaly among these mercenaries. He relies on his marksmanship that is not inferior to Yelena. He is arrogant and indifferent, and usually does not care about anyone's life or death.  In fact, no one would have thought that he would ignore himself to save a child, and it was someone who had nothing to do with him.

Another sniper beside him whispered, "That German guy's whole family died. I heard that it was during the war in a certain country in Africa. When his sister died, she was almost like that little girl. And he was only a teenager at the time.  , was sold to an armed organization as a child soldier. And you'd better not talk about this in front of him, he will twist your head off."

The sniper stuck out his tongue and said no more.
