Chapter 4089 Anti-Tank Battle 3

"Anti-tank mines were encountered ahead." The successive reports made the Moroccan commander inexplicably irritated. He roared on the radio, "Then avoid those damn minefields."

The report I got was that the road ahead was narrow.  There is no way to make a detour.  And going in depth, we don¡¯t know how many anti-tank mines the enemy has laid.

"Despicable! Despicable!" the Moroccan commander roared.  Just as he roared loudly, their armored units were attacked again.

After being attacked by anti-tank guns and anti-tank mines one after another, this time they encountered an infantry attack.  This sounds a bit unbelievable. It sounds like a joke when armored troops are attacked by infantry.

But the actual scene is not funny at all.  A large number of Western Saharan infantry appeared on the high ground on both sides of the canyon.  They held anti-tank rocket launchers and bombarded the tank troops directly below.

The top of a tank is usually weak, and anti-tank rockets from high up can easily penetrate the top of the tank's turret.  This caused great stress on the personnel inside the tank.

And the number of infantry is large, but the target is small.  With the help of the special terrain, a rocket will appear above your head, and you will run away after hitting it.  The muzzle elevation angles of these tanks and infantry fighting vehicles cannot reach such a height, and they can only rely on anti-aircraft machine guns for counterattacks.

Because the tank gun is a direct aiming gun, not an indirect aiming gun, the maximum elevation angle of the tank gun is only about ten degrees, and no tank gun can be raised to point more than twenty degrees.

The tank itself has thick armor and heavy firepower as its own advantages.  If the power of tank artillery cannot be exerted, most of the advantages of tanks will be destroyed.

Relying solely on the machine guns installed on tanks also has certain shortcomings in attacking these infantry.  Because the anti-aircraft machine gun on the tank, although the elevation angle is large enough, there are problems with the shooting angle.

Because the anti-aircraft machine gun on the tank is mounted on a bracket, the bracket can rotate.

The machine gunner, now generally held by the commander of a three-member tank, stands on his seat in the tank.

So if the turret does not rotate, the machine gun can only shoot targets about 60 degrees in front of the tank.

And unless fighting in the city, tanks will be equipped with automatic weapon stations to consider the problem of a large number of enemies at high altitudes.  A general tank machine gun needs to stick its head out to operate it.

And the shooter is usually the commander of the vehicle. In such a chaotic situation, shrapnel is flying everywhere.  The tank's commander was killed, causing even more serious problems.

The commander is the commander of a vehicle and is responsible for the combat command and coordination of the entire tank.

??To this day, most main battle tanks have a commander's overshoot shooting system. The commander uses this system to adjust the gun at high speed to roughly aim the gun at the target. The rest is the gunner's job to accurately aim and fire.

Another important thing for the commander is communication, using the radio station and chest switch to achieve duplex voice communication with superiors or friendly neighbors.  With the inter-vehicle information system and the ground navigation and positioning system, the superior's orders, the location of friendly neighbors, the vehicle's current fuel volume, the number of shells, vehicle speed, location, etc., everything is clearly displayed on the commander's display screen  Compared with a single radio station, it can be regarded as a "shotgun exchange for a cannon".

From the perspective of observation conditions, the observation conditions of the vehicle commander are the best.  On the one hand, the commander has the highest position, so he naturally stands tall and can see far; on the other hand, the commander has the most complete observation instruments. The periscope observation mirror can conduct 360-degree full-circle observation, while the other crew members  The observation conditions are more or less subject to some restrictions.

So because of these favorable conditions, the commander has become the most important role in the entire tank.  If the commander dies, first of all, communication will suffer a big loss. Other orders, position observation, etc. will also be problematic.

The key is that each member of the tank performs his own duties, and the only one who can really control the machine gun shooting is the commander.

Because the driver has to drive the tank, the gunner needs to aim, load and fire.  The only person who can actually control the machine gun and shoot is the commander.  Moreover, the position of the machine gun is also at the commander's position.

So this style of play almost mobilizes the commander of every tank.  Rockets and grenade fragments were flying everywhere, and from time to time, the tank commander controlling the machine gun fire was shot and killed.

Once the commander died, there were problems with the dispatching and communication of the entire vehicle.  The Moroccan army fell into chaos for a short time.

The Moroccan commander was aware of the problem and immediately asked to withdraw, or to directly fight his way forward.  But as tanks continued to be destroyed on both ends.  As a result, the originally spacious terrain was completely blocked.

Exploded tank remainsThe carcasses blocked the canyon from both ends.  This armored force was caught in a dilemma.  The constant explosions indicated that several more tanks had their turrets lifted off by anti-tank rocket launchers.

And something more serious happened later, when the Moroccan commander suddenly received a communication from the enemy.

"What's going on?" the Moroccan commander shouted, "how could the communication system"

"They have invaded our wireless channel." The signal soldier shouted, "They are shouting at us."

¡°Take it over to me.¡± The Moroccan commander shouted.

"Call the Moroccan Army Commander. This is the Popular Front of Western Sahara. You have been completely surrounded. Give up resistance and get out of the tanks. We accept your surrender. We will treat you as prisoners of war in accordance with international practice." came the radio.  sound.

"Despicable people. You think you can make us surrender like this Do you think you can make us surrender like this?" the Moroccan commander shouted.  "The Royal Moroccan Army will never surrender."

"Everything that happens now is just an appetizer. The real meal I have prepared for you is yet to come. You are now desperate and I have prepared a lot of napalm for you, if you don't surrender within 5 minutes.

These napalm will fall from the sky, and it only takes a little spark to turn the entire canyon into a sea of ??fire.  I wonder what it would be like to be roasted in a tank?

I believe you will soon understand what this tastes like.  "The other party threatened. "You will understand then that even if you die here, you are not a hero, but a sinner.  You must be responsible for the deaths of so many of your men.

The parents and families of these soldiers will spit on you, and the entire country will spit on you.  Because you disregard the lives of soldiers for the sake of your so-called soldier's dignity.

¡°Listen up, General, you only have 5 minutes to think about it¡¡±
