"General, you mean what we found was not just an enemy base, but the enemy's general headquarters?" the Moroccan officer said in surprise.

¡°Their investigation report just mentioned that there are high-power wireless communication equipment there. The Western Sahara people must have set up a communication base there. And the headquarters must be responsible for coordinating the overall command, and it will almost certainly be together with the communication base.

¡°Coupled with the fact that there are so many anti-aircraft weapons, I think we are in luck this time.  Immediately report to the headquarters that we lost one F16 fighter and damaged another.

But we suspected that we had discovered the enemy¡¯s command headquarters.  Our army will push forward with all its strength and capture the enemy's command headquarters.  Destroying their command center will inevitably have a reversal effect on our army's operations on the southeast front.  "The Moroccan commander immediately ordered.

Their troops set out with all their strength towards the coordinate area detected by the Air Force.  At the same time, at the Western Sahara base, Lin Rui and others were organizing an emergency evacuation.

"We damaged an F16, and the Sam-3 missile also shot down another. But the pilot seems to have ejected and escaped. Do you want to order a manhunt?" asked a Western Sahara military officer.

"Don't worry about these for now. According to our previous deployment, how long will it take for all your troops to withdraw?" Lin Rui asked a Western Sahara officer.

"Evacuate now? We were still fighting before and were not prepared at all. Even if we start the emergency gathering now, it will conservatively take more than an hour to fully evacuate." The officer said in a daze.

"Within one hour, if I see one person or one vehicle left here in your unit, just wait and be punished." The commander-in-chief of the West Sahara troops sternly reprimanded.

"Yes, sir." The officer stood at attention and saluted, then turned and ran away.

"Don't be too harsh on them, Chief Lantom. After all, they just won a small victory." Lin Rui lit a cigarette.  "Actually, we still have enough time. As long as we don't waste time, the enemy will not be able to catch up with us."

Commander Lantom nodded to him.  This is a soldier in his 50s with considerable experience in the military.  This is why Ernest arranged for him to be the commander-in-chief of this operation.

Another reason is that this is an old-school soldier, tough and stubborn, but always meticulous in executing orders.  Although he was the commander-in-chief of this operation, all orders were actually issued by Lin Rui's military advisory group.

This General Lantom did indeed fulfill his duties. Lin Rui and others were responsible for giving orders, and he was responsible for supervising the execution.  After several days of careful planning, they finally shot down an enemy plane and damaged another.  It has been proved that General Lantom is well-managed and indeed has high execution ability.  Lin Rui is also quite satisfied with this.

Since the evacuation route has been booked in advance and most of the troops have made certain preparations in advance, the time it takes for them to evacuate is not too long.

But even so, it took them more than an hour.  During this period, Lin Rui had been receiving timely messages from Cobain through satellite channels.

Cobain has been observing the movements of the Moroccan military through satellites and reporting their marching speed to Lin Rui in a timely manner.

"We have a problem now, boss." Cobain replied in a low voice, "The enemy's advancing speed is a bit faster than we expected. They are much faster than we previously expected. I suspect they are marching in a hurry."

Although the armed forces of the Western Sahara Popular Front also claim to have achieved mechanization.  But in fact they just completed motorization.

The so-called motorization means motorization and powerization, specifically referring to motor vehicles that use internal combustion engines such as gasoline engines and diesel engines as their own power.

"Compared with other countries, the Western Sahara Popular Front army is limited by its own conditions, and their motorization process appears to be very slow.  It was only after 2000 that semi-motorization was basically achieved, and the remaining half was still mules and horses.

? And mechanization is another story.  Different from motorized equipment, mechanized equipment not only has higher requirements for the above-mentioned per capita motor power, but also needs to have the following two characteristics.

The first point is that the vehicle must have excellent off-road mobility.

Another major feature of mechanized equipment is that it requires a certain degree of protection.  Although compared to tanks, the requirements for protection of mechanized infantry vehicles are not very high, but at least they must be able to withstand damage from ordinary small arms and shell fragments on the battlefield, which motorized equipment cannot do anyway.  .

Because it can transport troops at the front despite a hail of bullets, the emergence of mechanized equipment has truly solved the problem of infantry-tank coordination that has troubled people for decades.

The advancement speed of the Moroccan army¡¯s mechanized troops is of course much higher than the semi-motorized infantry of the Western Sahara Popular Front troops.

Originally, Lin Rui and others also considered this issue, but they believed that the Moroccan army would not advance so fast.

And now it seems that the Moroccan army is advancing faster than they expected.

After Lin Rui thought for a while, he continued to ask, "Are you sure?"

"Pretty sure. We've been watching them from satellites, but judging from the speed they're traveling at, it's faster than we expected." Cobain replied.

"Even mechanized troops cannot increase their speed so fast. Unlessthey give up part of the supplies they carry to increase their overall speed. It seems that our opponents are taking risks." Actuary Masakishi reacted immediately.

Lin Rui also nodded, "It seems that our enemies have been fooled. They believe that we are the headquarters of the Western Sahara Popular Front. So they are pursuing us at all costs."

"But can we sustain their pursuit?" Sausage asked in a low voice.

"They are still a long way away from us. Inform the troops to change to a comprehensive march and widen the distance between us as quickly as possible." Lin Rui immediately ordered.

Comprehensive march, also known as "mixed march".  A march that combines walking and riding.  Semi-mechanized troops and non-mechanized troops are limited by transportation means or road conditions and can only be used when some troops are marching by vehicle.

It can be carried out alternately on foot and by car; it can also be done partly on foot and partly by car at the same time to achieve the highest traveling speed.

The Western Sahara troops use vehicle and foot combined transportation, that is, some of them get on the vehicle and some of them walk. If they march for a long distance, they will concentrate the vehicles on one part and walk on the other part. The two armies will rotate the next day to reduce fatigue.

If the distance is short, one unit will first arrive at the combat area by vehicle to build a position, the other unit will follow on foot, and then the vehicle will turn back to pick up this unit.

The main premise of this kind of march is that the entire army's vehicles are under the unified command of the army headquarters. Before this, the vehicles were under the control of each department.

Lin Rui and others used the recently established communications and information command center to uniformly deploy all vehicles and personnel to maximize the troop's marching speed in a short period of time.
