Chapter 2019 Operation Rainy Night

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

It¡¯s getting late and it¡¯s raining.

The lights at Felsacre Base became a little hazy in the rainy night.  Accompanied by lightning and thunder rolling in the distance, the U.S. troops guarding the base were changing the guard while complaining about the damn weather.

In the grass outside the base, Lin Rui was lying on the ground, looking coldly at the American soldiers in the distance.  Rain dripped from his camouflage raincoat and streaked his face.  He didn't feel cold because his face was equally cold.  He looked down at the military watch on his wrist.  Because of the rain, the changing of the guard of these US troops was delayed by nearly three minutes.  But this does not affect the entire plan.

After the soldiers changing the guard left, Lin Rui raised his hand gesture in the darkness.  Then he walked out of the grass and strode forward.  He was wearing the standard camouflage of the US military and his head was lowered.  So although the guard felt a little surprised, he was not too alert.  I just wanted to stop him and ask him about the situation.

But before the two guard soldiers could speak, a man appeared on both sides of them, pushed the two guards to the ground, and then quickly dragged them to the darkness.  Lin Rui stood at the door and did not move forward, because if he took another step forward, he would be within the scope of the surveillance video.  Only after his two teammates dealt with the guarding soldiers, he walked around from the edge, always keeping himself in the blind spot of the camera surveillance.

The O2 team members hidden in the darkness also came out one after another, and then quickly gathered together and entered the base.  "Leave two people as guards, and the others will act according to their own plans." Lin Rui's voice reached everyone in the team through wireless headphones in the heavy rain.

Sergey and the chief covered the sausage on the way to the arsenal, "Don't be nervous, don't look back. On a rainy day like this, the chance of us being interrogated is very small. If you encounter the US military, don't talk and let me handle it."  Sergey whispered.

They walked quite smoothly along the way, because of the rainy weather and the fact that they were wearing the U.S. Army¡¯s standard raincoats, ordinary sentries were too lazy to come out and question them.

But after walking only a short distance, they immediately ran into trouble.  An armored vehicle drove past them, apparently entering the arsenal in front of him.

"Damn it." Sergey cursed in a low voice.  "There are US troops entering the arsenal, an armored vehicle, and there should be a few trucks in front. We can't take action with so many people, and the operation may have to be delayed."

"But we are pressed for time." Sausage whispered.

"I know, but these armored vehicles should be here to replenish training ammunition. They should leave after replenishing the ammunition. I hope they can end it soon." Sergey whispered.  Several of them stopped outside the arsenal, waiting patiently for the American troops inside.  Sergey's prediction was correct. The American troops also received orders from the exercise and came to collect the ammunition needed for the exercise. Several people were carrying it in the rain.  No one noticed Sergey and others.

"This can't go on like this. They can wait here, but we can't delay it any longer. We'd better act now while they are busy." Sausage whispered, "What they received is ammunition. According to intelligence, explosives and  The engineering equipment should be in another warehouse. If we go around from the back, maybe they won't notice."

"You can walk in front of them without attracting their attention? You are simply crazy." Sergey whispered.

"Now they are busy transporting ammunition. Maybe this is an opportunity for us. The keeper of the arsenal will also register and count the quantity, so they can't take care of us for a while. Even if they glance at us, they will think that we are here to transport.  Yes." The chief also whispered.

"No, it's too risky." Sergey whispered, "Once exposed, our entire plan will be ruined. Just be patient and wait."

The three of them hid behind vehicles outside the arsenal, waiting for the American troops to receive their ammunition and leave.  Sergei checked the time on his watch from time to time.  He was more nervous than anyone else, and Lin Rui only had fifteen minutes left for him to deal with unexpected situations.  Moreover, their rescue operation is one step after another. If Sergey and others delay here for too long, the entire operation will be delayed.  This affects their normal rescue and evacuation after the rescue.

But those American soldiers seemed oblivious and were still joking and working slowly.  By the time they left after replenishing ammunition, nearly twenty minutes had passed.  Sergey, Sausage and others secretly retreated to the wall of the ammunition depot, waited for the warehouse personnel to leave, and then quickly climbed over the wall and landed inside the ammunition depot.

The warehouse was built very high to prevent moisture and facilitate transportation.  Sergey quickly rushed forward and took out the unlocking tool.  This heavy iron door uses a traditional double-lock design. The design of this separate door lock is relatively old-fashioned, but it can effectively prevent one person from opening the door alone.  In other words, in order to enter the arsenal, two people must open the door at the same time.  This was why Sergei needed help. He quickly picked the lock and winked at the chief.

The chief nodded and walked to the other side of the door. He and Sergey turned the door handle at the same time and opened the door a crack.  Sergey was not in a hurry to go in, but put the speculum on his helmet and observed through the speculum inserted into the crack of the door.

    "How is it?" Sausage whispered.

Sergey pressed his mouth, dragged him away from the door, and whispered, "There is a voice-activated alarm system and an infrared alarm device inside. And they are both activated. I must try to turn them off.  . I will go in alone first, and you will be on guard outside. Wait until I give you the signal before you go in."

Sausage took a deep breath, nodded and said, "About how long?"

"It's only a few minutes." Sergey whispered, and then silently squeezed in from the door.

This base has been established for some time, so the voice-activated alarm device and infrared alarm device are both old models.  This made Sergey feel a little more comfortable. He slowly opened his tools and began to destroy the alarm device.  He must remain absolutely silent, even keeping his breathing even.  Because this voice-activated alarm is very sensitive, even the sound of slightly louder footsteps may trigger it.  Collisions of tools cannot occur, and everything must remain absolutely silent until the alarm is cleared.

Sergey was busy inside, and the sausages and the chief outside were also on tenterhooks.  If someone else comes in at this time, they will be completely ruined.
