Chapter 1940 Veteran Spy

In a room of the secret underground fortification, there was a man sitting on a chair, his face covered by a black hood.  It wasn't until the hood was taken off that the man squinted his eyes and began to adapt to the light in the room.  This is a white man with brown hair. The beard on his face has not been shaved for some days, and he looks a bit haggard and decadent.

He moved his neck, looked at the other black man in the room, and whispered, "Are you here to bring me good news, Kevin?"

The black man was wearing a suit, his dark bald head and his sharp gaze made him look very dangerous.  In fact, he is more dangerous than he seems.  His name is Kevin, but many people are more accustomed to calling him Mr. K.  As one of the CIA's most efficient senior agents, Mr. K is also considered a heavyweight in the intelligence community.

"Unfortunately, the above has not given a clear answer." Mr. K looked at the white man, took out a cigarette, and winked at an American agent next to him.  The agent nodded and walked up to the white man.

The white man took a puff of his cigarette and nodded politely, "Thank you. But I hope we can make progress in the transaction."

"We can meet most of your requests. But you must prove that you are worthy of our doing so. Jepolsky, why don't we talk about the information you know." Mr. K said slowly.

"I have given you some information, and I will not disclose other information easily. I need your protection and a large amount of money. Then you must arrange a new identity for us and ensure that we will not be captured by Russia for the rest of our lives.  The agent found it. This is a drop in the bucket compared to the value of the intelligence I provided." That Depolsky smiled slightly.

"But we can't trust people like you yet." Mr. K said coldly.

    "Nine days." Depolski said slowly.

    "What?" Mr. K frowned.

Jepolski whispered, "If I remember correctly, you asked me to move to four places within nine days. What I want to say is, if you hadn't realized the seriousness of the matter, it would have been impossible to do this.  Do it. I think the Russian intelligence agency must be looking for me now. Even if you don¡¯t believe me, you should think about the reason why they are so nervous.¡±

"If you tell us what you know, maybe we can discuss it again." Mr. K looked at him and said.

"Don't be ridiculous, K. We are all the same kind of people. If I tell you everything I know, then I will be of no use to you. You will let me fend for myself, and you won't even care about my life or death.  "Jepowski shook his head.

"You should know that we have many ways to get you to talk." Mr. K looked at him.

"You should also know that I will have more ways to deal with it. Don't threaten me with these low-level psychological attacks. No one can reach this level like us. Everyone knows the basics, so why waste efforts."  Depolski took a drag on his cigarette, turned around and asked, "How is my wife?"

"She's very good. She's right next door. But we can't let you meet for the time being." Mr. K walked a few steps and said, "This place is only temporary. Once the decision is made from above, we will send you to the United States." The bald man said  of black people seemed not at all surprised by Jepolski's reaction.

"I will not go to the United States. The risk of going there is too great. The Russian intelligence service will not let me go. I also don't want to become the second Litvinenko. So you must help me get a false identity and then go  The third country besides the United States and Russia is preferably Europe." Depolski said slowly.

"Believe me, we are dealing with these things. And you are here only temporarily. When the decision is made from above, you and your wife can leave here." Mr. K was obviously helpless towards this Russian spy.  Threats and forced confessions are of no use to such old spies, they insist on making a deal with you.

"Where are we?" Debosky looked at him and asked.

"A safe place." Mr. K replied.

"Although I was blindfolded when I came here, based on my judgment of the itinerary, we should still be somewhere in Asia." Jepolsky looked around and said slowly, "It looks like another of your bases.  . But I didn¡¯t hear any planes taking off and landing, so this is not an air force base, and certainly not a naval base.

Sorry, I don¡¯t mean to be picky about your food, but canned food and dehydrated vegetables are my least favorite foods.  So judging by the food, I haven't eaten fresh vegetables for several days, which means we are in a remote enough place.  If you think you can be safe in remote places, you are totally wrong.  "

Mr. K¡¯s expression remained unchanged as he looked at the Russian?Spies.  "Where exactly, that's not what you should ask."

"I don't want to ask either, but unfortunately it's related to my personal safety." Depolsky sneered, "In a place where we can't ensure our safety, what kind of valuable information do you expect me to give you?"

Mr. K turned around and waved to his men, "That's it for today. Cover his face. Watch him carefully. Don't let this guy out of sight even when going to the toilet."

"Don't worry, I won't run away." Depolski sneered, "You incompetent idiots."

After walking out of the room, Mr. K turned to his men and said, "How is the security situation outside?"

"No problem. In addition to our people, there is also a special team of jungle cats on guard outside. The guards received orders from inside. No one can approach this place without special permission, including myself." Mr. K's men whispered.  replied.

"That's good. This person is very important and may affect our relationship with Russia. Otherwise, it would be impossible for the higher-ups to make a decision until now." Mr. K whispered, "So we must not have any problems."

Mr. K¡¯s agent nodded and said, ¡°Understood!¡±

At the same time, Lin Rui and others had penetrated into the tunnels of the base.  Because it was midnight, most of the Jungle Cat troop members in the underground base had already rested.  There were just a few soldiers on duty guarding the long passage.

Lin Rui and others were wearing U.S. military uniforms. Because the humidity in the tropical rainforest is high and there is thick night fog during night patrols, they all wore goretex raincoats.  This made their figures well concealed, and it was difficult to tell from their figures whether they were members of the patrol force.

Crazy Horse is very experienced in this type of base. He led Lin Rui and others to avoid the American patrols in the passage, and several people gathered in a dim passage.
