Chapter 1701 Emergency Military Information

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

As night falls, the wind makes the dead grass on this desert rustle.  The smell of gunpowder on the battlefield has not yet been completely blown away by the wind.  The rebel camp in Anmore is still noisy as before. In order to solve the problem of electricity, the rebels are using small portable gasoline generators.  The noise was very loud, and coupled with the naturally active character of Africans, it was difficult for these rebels to quiet down.

Powell and Dirk, the two military advisers sent by the secret society, were looking at the map in the command tent.  "Can't these damn guys be quiet?" Dirk muttered angrily.  "They don't look like soldiers at all."

"If they looked like soldiers, they would have captured Leta City long ago, and we should be in Leta City too." Powell shook his head and said, "Leave them alone. These damn militiamen are preparing to launch another massacre tomorrow."  offensive. What do you think?"

Dirk sneered, "There is still no hope of taking Leta City, but it can further damage the morale of the government troops. I estimate that within a week these government troops will be at their limit."

"I think you still missed other factors, such as those mercenaries. Their combat effectiveness is much stronger than that of the government troops. This is one of the reasons why we have not captured Leta City yet." Powell sighed.

"The government army is gone. A few hundred mercenaries can't change the situation." Dirk shook his head.  "I'm worried about whether the attitude of these anti-government rebels towards us will change after they win. After all, there are many warlords who act like dogs when they lose power, and then turn their backs and disown us after gaining power."

"Yeah, so from now on, we have to be careful about this group of people." Powell whispered.

While he was talking, a rebel soldier ran in from outside and broke into the tent in a panic.

"What are you doing? Is this a place where you can just wander in?" Powell's expression changed and he shouted sternly.

"Report, Mr. Powell, the general asked you to go to the headquarters, saying that there is an urgent military situation." The rebel said nervously.

"What?" Powell and Dirk stood up at the same time.

"Take me there!" Powell shouted.  The three people quickly walked out of the tent and ran all the way to a large tent belonging to the rebels.  The rebel leader was furious there. When he saw Powell walking in, he immediately came up to him and said, "Mr. Advisor, our people have just been attacked! It is said that a large number of government troops are attacking our defense line in Area C."

"The defense line in Area C?" Powell walked a few steps over and looked at the map and asked, "Where are the number and size?"

¡°It¡¯s said to be a large number of armed personnel, troop transport convoys, and armored vehicles.¡± The rebel leader replied.

"Armored vehicle?" Powell was stunned for a moment.

The rebel leader nodded and said, "There are only two armored vehicles in Leta City. We suffered their losses last time when we attacked the city."

Dirk nodded and said, "I know this. The government army has several old wheeled armors. But they are all older BRDM-2 models. Things from the 1960s and 1970s."

"You mean not only did a large number of government troops participate in the attack, but also their only two armored vehicles were dispatched?" Powell frowned.

"Yes, the firepower is very fierce and very sudden. Our people are almost unable to hold on. I plan to have people on the flanks of the position move to area C to assist in defense." The rebel leader replied.

"No. Wait, we need further intelligence to determine the next course of action." Powell shook his head, "The government forces have been defensive for a long time, so how could they suddenly launch a massive counterattack tonight? This is unreasonable. I  We need to communicate with the front line and get the latest news.¡±

"Report to the general." A rebel ran over and said, "The latest battle report is that the government troops have broken through the defense line in Area C."

"So fast?" The rebel leader's expression changed drastically, "How is this possible?"

"It is said that they are trying to avoid fighting us. It seems that their purpose is not to retake Area C, but to break out." The rebel report reported.

The rebel leader suddenly turned around and said, "You mean a breakout?"

"Yes. After they defeated our people, they penetrated directly through our C-area defenses and headed south without stopping too much." The rebels replied.

"How many government troops are there?" Dirk suddenly turned around and shouted.

¡°It¡¯s hard to see clearly at night, but according to our people there are at least a thousand people, and they are equipped with armed trucks equipped with machine guns, with powerful firepower.¡± the rebels replied.

Powell paced back and forth in front of the map, his face changed, and he said, "Let your people in Area C withdraw immediately and do your best to block this government army's breakout force."

"What are you waiting for? Send the order." The rebel leader said angrily.

"Yes!" The rebel glanced at the leader and nodded hurriedly.

Powell stared at the map and drew a line in Area C with a pencil.  He whispered, "Risky breakout? This is not like General Coffey's style. I thought he would choose to stick around and wait for reinforcements. As long as we defend Red Rock Town, then he will not have reinforcements. I didn't expect that he would have such  Courage and courage to make dangerous moves."

"But our military strength is several times theirs. Isn't he seeking death by rushing out like this?" the rebel leader frowned.  "He could at least rely on the terrain to hold on in Leta City. Now that he's out, he has nothing to rely on."

"I think so too, but why?" Powell thought for a while.

The phone on the table rang again. Dirk took the call and listened for a while and said, "The flank of Area B was attacked. It should be the government troops just now. It is said that there are many people."

"What? They went around to the flank of Area B again? Such a fast advancement speed?" The rebel leader was stunned and immediately shouted.  "It looks like they are not just making a fuss. We have to organize our defense immediately." He grabbed the microphone and said loudly, "Hey, hey, I want to"

But the phone was pressed by Powell. He looked at the rebel leader coldly and whispered, "General, don't be nervous. The actions of this group of government troops are strange. So many people, but at such a fast speed."  Pushing forward, that¡¯s unusual.¡±

"I know this is unusual, that's why we have to stop them." The rebel leader said loudly.

Powell shook his head and said, "Not yet, because before their true intentions are clear, any action you take may undermine our overall deployment."

"The fight is almost over, what else is there to plan for? I should personally lead people to fight them back." The rebel leader said angrily.  "We can no longer hesitate. They have already reached the flank of Area B. This shows that they are very likely to break through Area B and enter Area A where we are. Our troop strength is several times theirs. Should we just stand and let them fight?  Were you caught off guard?"
