Chapter 1532 The right choice

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

Sergey struggled to pull on the leash and used his entire body to tie the other man to the tree.  The soldiers of the secret society were still struggling and kicking desperately.  But Sergey knew he wouldn't last long.  Sometimes human life is so fragile.

But the irony is that the humbler the life of some people, the harder it is to die, just like him.  First as a street child in St. Petersburg, then as a thief and street gangster, and then as a mercenary.  Judging from his growth path, he has faced death countless times.  But he was like a cockroach that couldn't be killed, stubborn and strong all the way.

The strength of the struggle coming from the belt gradually weakened and eventually disappeared.  Sergey did not look back at the unlucky guy who was strangled to death. He just leaned against the tree limply, panting for a while, and then continued to get up.  His hands were shaking from exerting too much force, and his legs had no strength.

If he could rest for another half hour, he might regain some strength.  But he couldn't rest because in his current condition, he might faint at any time.  Sergey struggled to get up from the ground and struggled to move forward.  Their scheduled time for the second meeting point has not yet arrived.  So Sergey firmly believed that his companions would be waiting for him in front.

He never really believed in anyone before, but now he believes in these people.  They will never abandon themselves, even if they die, they will come back to take away their bodies.  o2 never lets a comrade's body be exposed in the wilderness. This is his last belief.  Sergei struggled and staggered. He fell from a height into the river valley. Although he did not die, he was still seriously injured.  Combined with running away, it felt like hell.

Sergey choked out another mouthful of blood, and his breathing became heavier and heavier.

In the end, he was sure that he couldn't walk anymore and couldn't hold on no matter how hard he tried.  He lowered his head and glanced at the GPS locator hanging on his wrist, and time passed by slowly.  But the distance between him and the second meeting point was fixed at seven kilometers.  These seven kilometers determine his final life or death.

Sergey sat down against the tree. Never once did he think that he would die like this.  He usually preferred to imagine that he was lying in the snow somewhere in St. Petersburg, drunk to death from excessive drinking.  Instead of dying like this in this damn African jungle, that would be too unrestrained.

Sergey sighed. He looked up at the sky. His vision had begun to blur.  He began to sing an old Russian song in a low voice: "While pear blossoms are blooming all over the world, soft veils are floating on the river; Katyusha is standing on the steep bank, singing like"

His voice paused because he heard someone approaching. The sound of trampling on dead grass and leaves was obvious, but he was no longer too lazy to hide.  Sergey knew very well that in his current state, even if a child came, he could easily kill him.

So Sergey chose to continue humming this old song, even though he was born with a tone-deaf voice.  But at least he felt that he could still face death calmly.  Goodbye, brothers.  Goodbye, St. Petersburg snow

In a trance, he heard someone humming the same melody.  Standard Russian, still with a female voice, "The girl sings beautiful songs, she is singing about the eagle on the grassland; she is singing about her beloved"

He tilted his head and smiled, "I admit, it's better than my singing, but not much better" After saying that, he fainted.  Because he saw Lin Rui and Yelena walking towards him, the breath he had been holding on finally relaxed.

Lin Rui hurriedly went over to help him up, "We found him. Damn it, he is covered in mud and is as slippery as a loach. I have never seen this damn Russian guy be so heavy. Sandro, come here and help!"

Sandro and Snake Eyes heard the sound and rushed over, helping Sergey up together.  Lin Rui gasped for breath, but laughed again until he burst into tears.  "Well done, Russian. Well done!"

Sandro gave Sergey the following basic diagnosis, "His condition is not good, his ribs show signs of fracture, and he is exhausted. Snake Eyes checked the surroundings and found two secret society armed men. One was shot.  , one was strangled to death by a belt. This Russian guy is really lucky, he only had half his life left, and he killed two of them."

"He can't die, take him back." Lin Rui looked around, "It's also luck. If Snake Eyes hadn't heard the gunshot, this bastard would really have died here."

"It's not just the gunshot. If you hadn't insisted on staying at the second assembly point to wait for him, we wouldn't have had the chance to hear the gunshot." Jiang'an helped him up, "Okay, it's time for us to leave. Just now.  The sound of gunfire can alert us, and it can also alert the people in the secret society."

"That's right." Lin Rui stood up and said loudly, "Attention everyone, we are going back!"

Half an hour later, they arrived at the place where they originally parked their car.  Before getting on the bus??, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, it was almost dark by now.  Lin Rui and other members of the O2 team quickly evacuated and found a secluded place to camp.  Their current appearance is too conspicuous. If they settle in a nearby town, they will most likely be targeted by people from the secret society again.  Moreover, these secret society members are pervasive and have connections with many surrounding armed organizations.  Once they discover their whereabouts, it will definitely be another fierce battle.

It¡¯s better to find a deserted corner to rest, replenish some food and water, and wait until daybreak before continuing on the road.  By the way, Qin Chuan was informed that he was ready to pick someone up.

They set up a team of firemen, some resting and others on guard.  The hostages and wounded were left in the vehicle for quick evacuation in case of danger.  Lin Rui bit into a piece of salted biscuit and whispered, "Have you contacted Qin Chuan?"

"We are in contact. I will send them our coordinates. It's best to have them ready to come and pick us up. It would be best to have a helicopter. I don't want anything to happen again." Jiang An whispered, "What's wrong with Sergey?"  Are you ready?"

"I gave him some antibiotics. He coughed up blood a little, but it shouldn't be too serious. It was mainly because he was tired. With an injured ankle, normal people would be tired and fall down if they could climb there." Lin Rui shook his head.  "He needs food and energy and more than anything, rest."

Jiang An nodded, "You know Lin Rui? I have always thought that I am the best staff officer, even enough to play the role of commander. But this time, I have to admit that I am only the best staff officer."

"What do you say?" Lin Rui looked at him and said.

"If it were me, I would choose the wisest approach and not wait for Sergey at all. Because I almost believe that he is dead. But you are different. You stick to your principles and never give up on anyone easily. So, you  It's the commander, and I can only be a staff officer. The staff puts forward opinions, and the commander makes the right choice." Maang'an shook his head.

"If you knew Sergey was still alive, would you wait for him?" Lin Rui looked at him and said.

¡°I won¡¯t, because I will go back to save him.¡± Jiang An said calmly.

"So you are at least a staff officer with commander potential." Lin Rui laughed.
