Chapter 1513 Central African Gems

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

One day later, Lin Rui and others appeared in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a magical place known as the gem of Central Africa.

Because the country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has a particularly good foundation.  Forest coverage accounts for half of the country's land area. There are large tracts of wood that can be used to turn beads and make bracelets. Water resources are quite abundant, not to mention gold, diamonds, oil and various rare metals.  Open the periodic table of elements, and there are probably few that you can¡¯t find in them.

The foundation is so good, but it has not done much to improve the lives of Congolese people, because these resources have attracted different armed factions, triggering conflicts year after year. Congolese people either fled with their families to avoid the war, or were captured and became absentee workers.  , standing in muddy water digging soil all day long.

These different armed factions that control the mines come from different regions. Armed factions can be said to be another major intangible specialty of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with hundreds of them across the country.  Although these factions were born among the trees and were illiterate, they all harbored lofty ideals of governing the country. Everyone felt that they were sent by God to save the country, and they would definitely do better than the current incumbent when they came to power.

So while opposing the current government, I use mining to obtain military pay and raise funds for activities. In the process, I will fight with whoever robs me and whoever doesn¡¯t let me mine.  International forces often intervene in the internal affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and all parties want to support their agents.  So this place has been in constant war since the 1960s.  The blue helmets of the United Nations Security Council are simply busy.

Lin Rui and others met Qin Chuan who was waiting for them at the airport.  Qin Chuan brought them to a newly developed community, which is full of Europeans and Chinese. It is close to the Congo River and the environment is very good. It is said that it is also the best community in the local area, of course, only relatively speaking.

In the garage, Qin Chuan handed them the keys to the three cars.  "This is the car you want. The weapons are in the box behind the garage. If you need anything else, you can tell me."

"We still need thirty to fifty thousand cash, preferably U.S. dollars." Lin Rui nodded.

"Is it okay to pay by check?" Qin Chuan said.

"Ask those kids begging on the street if they accept checks." Lin Rui shrugged, "Of course it's cash, and the denomination isn't too big. It's just a way to collect intelligence."

"Okay, I'll figure it out later. Do you often use money to buy information?" Qin Chuan frowned.

"You don't need it when the information is perfect. But when there is a lack of information, you will find that it is much faster to buy information directly with money." Lin Rui went to the back of the car and opened a metal box.  He couldn't help but smile and said, "Type 97 automatic rifle, a foreign trade model of China Norinco. How did you get it?"

The Chinese Type 97 assault rifle is modified and developed based on the Type 95 assault rifle. The main change is that it uses NATO standard 5.56 mm ammunition and uses the NATO standard m16 assault rifle metal magazine. At the same time, it omits the original gun on the Chinese military standard weapon.  The sound reduction function of the mouth brake.  However, this type of rifle is mainly for export and is rarely equipped domestically.

"You have good eyesight, many people will mistake this gun for the Type 95." Qin Chuan said with a smile.  "I specially found someone to prepare it for you. Norinco has business in many African countries, but this type does not sell many."

Lin Rui picked up the weapon, weighed it in his hand, and took the following aim.  "It's not bad. At least it draws the gun quickly. It has restored the empty position and added 3 bursts of fire. The grip length of the handguard is longer. However, the defect of the sight being too high remains."

"Let's make do, adapt to local conditions. You can't let me find arms dealers to get weapons, right?" Qin Chuan sighed.

"82-2 type grenades, are they all domestic products?" Lin Rui said holding a grenade.

"Export products, you know we have a large export volume." Qin Chuan shrugged.

"I've seen it before. This kind of thing is everywhere in Central Africa. The local price of these grenades is even cheaper than a can of Coke." Lin Rui shook his head.

"But you have to admit that the power is not bad. The main charge is 40g high explosive. This bomb adds a safety pin pull ring fixation device to ensure the safety of the grenade in various environments. Type 82-2 all-plastic handleless steel ball grenade  The total bullet mass is 260g, the bullet diameter is 52mm, the total bullet length is 90mm, and the killing radius is 6m." Qin Chuan said with a smile.

"They are all cheap goods." Sergey shook his head.

¡°It¡¯s cheap and easy to use. This is how we occupied the African market.¡± Qin Chuan sighed.  "We need at least two sniper rifles. If not, a high-precision rifle will do." Lin Rui frowned, "If we want to ensure the safety of the hostages in this kind of mission, we must have snipers to control the situation."  "

"Okay, I'll do it." Qin Chuan said.  "There's nothing we can't get here."

? ???Great, I'll get you two packs of cigarettes by the way.  Sergey nodded.

Qin Chuan was stunned for a moment and could only turn around and leave.

"Who does this guy think he is? If you brag to me again, I will ask him to send two women over." Sergey frowned.

"People like them have this problem, just ignore him." Lin Rui shook his head and said, "Look at the condition of the car and weapons. Sergey, you and Crazy Horse go out to inquire about the news. Snake Eyes goes to find yours.  Those old friends, see if you can get any relevant information. Actuaries, get in touch with the St. Keizer Island headquarters as soon as possible. We need Cobain¡¯s assistance.¡±

"Of course." Actuary Maigan has already turned on the tactical computer.

"Sausage, you go out and find something to eat. Bread, vegetables and fruits are all fine, but remember not to eat meat of unknown origin." Lin Rui waved.

"Yes, captain." Sausage nodded, turned around and went out.

"Chief, Sandro, Yelena, go out on patrol and check the surrounding security conditions. Crystal, you and Biscuit check this room together. I don't want to see any surveillance or eavesdropping devices." Lin Rui continued to order.

"No, boss, what we have to deal with this time is just a group of African militias, not the CIA." Biscuit said with a smile, "I don't think they dare to come here to eavesdrop on information."

"This is standard procedure, newcomer. Besides, it's not just the warlords we have to guard against. Remember, since we can buy information, so can they. So we must do this kind of inspection, and don't do anything to anyone here.  You are too trusting and are prohibited from talking openly about all issues related to the mission." Lin Rui gestured, "Okay, let's all move, let's all take action."

    "Yes, Captain." Biscuit nodded.

"One more thing, no matter what problems you encounter, you must contact me in time." Lin Rui said solemnly, "The last point is, when encountering a threat, fire first and then speak, no matter who the other party is."
