Chapter 1293 Mean Streets

The sun was shining on the cracked road, and the sound of the Hummer's engine gradually came from far to near.  The rainy season in South Sudan has just ended, and the temperatures are despairingly high.  Lin Rui was in the car and felt the ground begin to tremble more and more violently.  It was the conflict between South Sudanese troops in the distance that was intensifying, and the ground was shaking because of the explosion of artillery shells.

Several helicopters painted in brown desert camouflage colors passed by at low altitude, stirring up a cloud of sand on the ground.  Those were two Milu armed attack helicopters of the South Sudanese army.

In order to avoid unnecessary conflicts, Lin Rui and others drove the car into the woods beside the road, sat quietly, and looked through the car window at the undulating red and yellow mounds of red and yellow soil that were in a streamlined shape.  It extends to the infinite distance, like a vast sea.  Next to Lin Rui were the members of Group A. They were covered in desert camouflage and were on standby with weapons in hand.

They wore gray and yellow desert-colored combat camouflage uniforms with bulletproof vests. The weapons in their hands were mainly m4a1 assault rifles and standard m16a4 provided by the Americans.  Each of them has a communicator and battlefield recorder mounted on their helmet.  It shows that they are a highly informatized force.

"Damn, I really want to knock down those two buzzing flies." Park Dongxiang looked at the helicopters flying and circling in the distance.

"Forget it, we are here for the mission. If not necessary, try not to conflict with these South Sudanese soldiers." Lin Rui shrugged, pressed the communication headset and said, "Cobain, check again based on our location.  Target location."

"It's 14 kilometers to the west of you. Hey, man, that's the most intense fighting area right now. Are you sure you want to do this?" Cobain seemed hesitant.

"If you don't enter the tiger's den, you won't catch the tiger's cubs!" Lin Rui shrugged.

"What do you mean?" Cobain was a little confused.

"You should really learn Chinese, Cobain. What Rick means is - he is the boss, we have to listen to him." Crazy Horse shrugged, showing off self-righteously.

"Okay, if you insist. I suggest you hurry up and take advantage of their shelling to get in. Don't accidentally get hit by the artillery." Cobain said helplessly.  "However, you still have to avoid those patrol helicopters."

Those helicopters were flying at low altitude over the highway, flying as low as possible from the ground, and their navigation routes were carefully planned in advance to maximize the inspection effect.

But Lin Rui and others chose to hide before these helicopters approached, and then avoided them. After the helicopters went away, Lin Rui ordered to continue moving forward.  Three Humvees, carrying dust and roar, sped towards the target.  The South Sudanese soldiers suddenly arrived at their destination without any knowledge.

They were approaching the town near Juba, the capital of South Sudan. As the terrain gradually flattened out, the Humvee, which had lost its terrain cover, could easily be spotted by soldiers deployed nearby. Therefore, the speed of action of Lin Rui and others became very important.

The vehicle took advantage of the lull in the artillery fire and quickly rushed into the town area. The O2 team members who got off the vehicle formed a tactical formation to be on guard. Everyone was eagerly occupying the charging position, and Lin Rui also picked up his M4 assault gun and carried out the attack.  Vigilance, although he also knew in his heart that he was not very powerful in such a large-scale battle.  Maybe a single artillery can destroy this team, but now there is no choice but to bite the bullet.

Roads inside the town were full of roadblocks, and ruins of ruined buildings blocked many roads, making it difficult for their Humvees to pass. Lin Rui could only arrange for three vehicles to stay and hide nearby as necessary support.  Others could only rely on walking deep behind enemy lines.

"We want to keep the vehicle? Boss, the large-caliber machine gun on the vehicle is our strongest firepower." Snake Eyes frowned.

"I understand, but it can't pass, and no matter how strong the firepower is, it can't be used." Lin Rui shook his head and said, "The vehicles are left behind and can only be used as a reserve team. The others will follow me on foot. We must be prepared for the spy to encounter any unexpected events.  Before that, rescue him. This is the primary goal, do you understand?"

"Understood!" Crazy Horse and others nodded.

Lin Rui nodded, waved and said: "Let's go, gentlemen, let's find that bastard!" Then he walked forward, and the other team members did not dare to neglect, immediately waved their hands, and led the team to follow closely

Lin Rui crawled through the ruins at the corner of the street, looked around vigilantly, and saw that there was nothing suspicious around him, so he walked into a hidden alley surrounded by old-fashioned concrete houses. Continuous wars have led to the  All the people were gone, and there were no pedestrians on the road, so no one noticed him when he walked in.

The sound of the military boots under his feet on the rubble of the ruins seemed a little loud, which made Lin Rui feel a little bit sad.Uneasy, he looked back again.  After the bombardment stopped, the ruins of the streets and alleys remained as quiet as ever, with no human beings emerging from them.

Lin Rui quickly ducked around the corner of the street, then leaned over and took a cautious look, then leaned against the wall and checked the GPS locator in his hand.  There are still about three kilometers away from the target.

Snake Eyes, the sniper who was hiding in the distance and observing the surroundings through a telescope, cursed lightly in the communication channel, and then said helplessly: "There is a target approaching, probably the South Sudanese Armed Forces. At least two platoons, maybe behind.  There's more. Damn it, we're in trouble again and they're closing in on this area."

"Report their respective positions!" Lin Rui said calmly.

A calm reply came immediately from the earphones: "Viper, sniper is in position!"

"The second floor on the east side of Sergei is in place!"

"Position 3! Crazy Horse and Rose, fire support is in place!" Crazy Horse's voice was accompanied by the sound of him pulling the trigger.

"I order -" Lin Rui clenched his fists, "Each group prepares, as long as this group of people enters the street where we are, we have to open fire! Because they will also shoot at us unambiguously. Do you understand?  "

Following his order, several teams of fully armed O2 members, wearing body armor and black masks, suddenly rushed out from the hidden places of the previously messy piles of waste wood in the alley and nearby houses.  They formed a tactical formation and quickly seized the position, closely monitoring the streets and alleys.  Fortunately, the South Sudanese troops did not enter, but passed directly by.

Lin Rui breathed a sigh of relief and lowered his gun.  This is the best result.

¡°If necessary, he really does not want to have an unexpected conflict with these unrelated South Sudanese armed forces.  Because any unexpected conflict will lead to unexpected casualties.  There are not many of them, and the situation here is complicated.  The best outcome is to get along with the South Sudanese troops and find the Russian spy Alexei safely.
