A few days later, I arrived at the mental rehabilitation center.  When she learned that Lin Rui wanted to see Lincoln, the nurse looked at the Asian young man strangely, frowned and said, "Are you sure you are looking for Lincoln Stephens?"

"Yes, is there any problem?" A nurse shook her head and said, "This is a very special patient who receives special monitoring and treatment. Anyone who visits him must obtain the consent of his doctor."

"Oh? Is there such a rule?" Lin Rui frowned.

"Yes, because he has severe post-traumatic stress disorder. Contact with certain people and things may aggravate his condition. So visiting him requires the consent of his doctor." The nurse shook her head and said, "This is  His doctor prescribed it.¡±

"Okay, where can I find this doctor?" Lin Rui thought for a while and asked.

"It's in the office over there, or I can call you to inform you." The nurse looked at Lin Rui and said.  "Are you a soldier?"

Lin Rui was stunned for a moment and shook his head, "No, at least not yet."

"That's good. The doctor is against soldiers visiting Lincoln. She thinks it will have a very bad impact on the patient." The nurse smiled.

"She? Is she a female doctor?" Lin Rui said unexpectedly.

"Yes, she is a new medical expert in our hospital." After the nurse made a phone call, she said to Lin Rui, "You can go in."

Lin Rui nodded and walked to an office inside, "Hello" Lin Rui was stunned for a moment after saying this, and said in shock, "Is it you, Lu Hanxin?"

He knew the female doctor. It was not the first time Lin Rui met her since he first rescued her in the Somali pirate camp, but he didn't expect it to be on this occasion.

The female doctor looked at him a little surprised, but quickly recovered and said, "Please sit down."

Seeing this young female doctor again, Lin Rui even felt a little unreal.  He smiled bitterly and said, "It seems that this world is really too small."

¡°It¡¯s not that the world is small, it¡¯s that you and I are running around.¡± Lu Hanxin said with a smile.  "But I'm still glad that at least you didn't bring a gun when I met you this time."

Lin Rui nodded and said, "Maybe we should have a meal together later."

"Maybe. Why are you here today?" Lu Hanxin frowned.

"I need to talk to one of your patients." Lin Rui looked at her and said.

"One of my patients?" Lu Hanxin frowned.  "Are you talking about Lincoln?"

Lin Rui nodded, "Yes, it's him, but the nurse said that I must get the doctor's consent before talking to him, so I came to see you."

"I understand." Lu Hanxin nodded, "In the past month, at least three groups of people like you have come."

"Someone like me?" Lin Rui frowned.

Lu Hanxin shrugged, "I have been with Doctors Without Borders in Africa for a whole year, and I know what it is like to be a mercenary. Even if people like you wear the best suits, you can't hide the temperament you have."

"What kind of temperament?" Lin Rui smiled.

"Indifference to life, whether it's your own or others'. And it's hard for you to trust other people." Lu Hanxin said calmly.

Lin Rui looked down at his suit, shrugged and said, "I rarely wear these before, but today I am here to see patients, not on the battlefield. I want to look more relaxed. So, can you  Do you agree for me to meet him?"

"I'm afraid this won't work. I have to be responsible for my patient. He is recovering well now, and I don't want him to be exposed to anything related to the war again."

"What I want to talk to him about is not your war, but his future life. He will have a job and a development plan for the future. Maybe these can make him active and face his future life." Lin Rui shrugged.  road.

"What kind of life, like you, could be injured at any time, or even die in a foreign country?" Lu Hanxin shook his head and said, "I don't think this is a good thing for him."

"Dr. Lu, I don't want to argue with you, but why don't you let me talk to him directly about the outcome? We may have different ideas about him, but you have to admit that the final decision should be made by himself.  Sure." Lin Rui sighed.

"But he is my patient. I spent a lot of effort to treat him, so I don't want you to drag him to the battlefield again." Lu Hanxin said with some displeasure.

"I understand that you have a sense of mission as a doctor, and I admire the fearless courage of your M¨¦decins Sans Fronti¨¨res organization."??Spirit of self-sacrifice.  But even so, you are not qualified to make any decisions on his behalf, right?  What do you think is best for him, but that's just your personal opinion. Shouldn't we respect Lincoln's own choice?  Lin Rui looked at Lu Hanxin and said.

"Damn it, you and the people in the private military company want him to be a mercenary and return to the battlefield again. Would Lincoln like this kind of life?" Lu Hanxin said loudly.

"Dr. Lu, you joined Doctors Without Borders and traveled around the world to save patients in the poorest, backward and war-torn places. What are you doing for that?" Lin Rui looked at her and said.

"All people are born equal, and even those who are poor or in war-torn conditions have the right to receive medical treatment. I joined Doctors Without Borders out of human conscience and respect for human life." Lu Hanxin said excitedly.

"Then let's talk about respect. Respect for human life is not just about keeping him alive and healthy. If living means respect, then who were the black slaves on the American plantations hundreds of years ago? Did they get respect?

Respecting life does not mean letting a person live, but letting him live with the right to make free choices.  So Dr. Lu, if you really respect your patient, you should let me talk to him.  I'm not forcing him, but giving him a choice.  No matter how he chooses, the decision must be made by him, rather than depriving him of the opportunity to make a choice like you do.  Lin Rui sighed.

Lu Hanxin was stunned for a long time, looking at Lin Rui as if she had never seen him before.  After a moment of silence, she still shook her head and said, "What if I don't agree?"

"Then I will think of other ways." Lin Rui smiled and said, "Maybe we should have dinner together later and have a good communication. But I believe you will agree. You have a strong personality, but your heart is very soft.  .¡±

"God, you are actually flattering me." Lu Hanxin said with a wry smile, "But I have to admit that what you said makes sense. He should make the choice. I will allow you to see him, but I must be there  Watch from the side in case you irritate him."
