¡° Just after the New Year¡¯s Day holiday, bad news came. A white skeleton was found in Tubazi Village, fifty kilometers away from the city. No information about the deceased was known. This was an extremely difficult case to investigate.

We drove along the bumpy rural dirt road for more than half an hour before we found the location.  As soon as we got out of the car, Team Xu, who was helping to evacuate the onlookers, ran over.  Before we could say anything, he directly started to introduce the situation at the scene. This was already a tacit understanding between us.

"Director Leng, the person who called the police was Yu Guanghua, male, fifty-nine years old, the village chief of Tubazi Village. According to his introduction, Yu Shuanzhu, a villager in his village, shoveled out a human bone while digging a canal in the morning. After many efforts,  According to research, the skeleton was not buried by anyone in his village. He suspected that someone had committed a murder and buried the body in their village, so he reported the case."

Brother Ming held his chin and listened to the case, while I glanced at the scene through the crowd.  The area surrounded by the warning tape is located ten meters west of the main road in the village. Visual inspection on site revealed a pit three meters long, two meters wide, and about one meter high. The pit was long from east to west and narrow from north to south.  There were freshly dug yellow clay piled around the pit, and in the middle of the pit was a gray-white broken bone about twenty centimeters long.  It is not difficult to see from the soil layer on the side of the pit that there are still a large number of bones buried in the soil that have not been dug out.

After a brief inquiry, Brother Ming ordered us to prepare to investigate the site.

Since the whole scene is outdoors, the surrounding ground has been trampled by too many people, and the body has turned into bones, there is no need to analyze the footprints.  There is no need for footprints, and there is no hope for fingerprints.  In other words, I, as a trace examiner, have temporarily lost my function. When analyzing the skeletal corpse, it is time to test my forensic skills. Therefore, Brother Ming must take the lead in this case.

Wearing protective clothing, Brother Ming went down into the pit. After briefly observing the situation, he directed the criminal police team and the police from the police station to start digging for other skeletons.  The entire excavation process is as meticulous as archaeological experts excavating cultural relics.

As we all know, the bones of an adult are divided into four parts: skull, trunk bones, upper limb bones, and lower limb bones, a total of 206 pieces.  Missing any piece will have a great impact on the following analysis work.  To take the simplest example, if the deceased had broken fingers or was disabled, this would have a directional effect on the investigation of the case, so the excavation of the skeleton must be careful and no detail can be missed.

The excavation work lasted for nearly two hours. When the skull of the deceased was taken out and placed in a body bag, I felt cold in my heart.  I was still imagining that this was not a case, but the six round holes side by side on the skull completely gave up this idea.

The wounds are arranged like the scars on a monk¡¯s head, three in a row, two rows in total. The diameter of the wounds is about 0.5 centimeters, which is very regular.  Such wounds could never be caused by accident, so the cause of death of the deceased could only be homicide.

¡°Obviously, Brother Ming also noticed these wounds, and his movements became more cautious.

The entire skeleton has been exhumed, along with the clothes worn by the deceased, a small amount of hair and a CD.  Brother Ming first took out the deceased's clothes from the skeleton and placed them neatly aside. Since the clothes had been severely corroded, it could only be roughly judged that the deceased was wearing a military green long-sleeved shirt on his upper body and lower body before his death.  It was a pair of gray-black suit trousers and a pair of thousand-layer cloth shoes. These clothes were quite cheap, which indirectly proved that the deceased was not a wealthy person.

Next to the deceased¡¯s clothes, there was a CD box with Teresa Teng¡¯s face on it lying quietly. The CD had not been opened and was relatively well preserved.

In order to find some clues on the packaging box, I took out the fingerprint light from my inspection box and pointed it at the outer packaging of the disc.

Maybe it was because it was buried deep in the soil, but I didn¡¯t find any fingerprints on it, so I put it back in its place with a little disappointment.

Brother Ming was nervously doing the work of splicing the bones on the side, while Lao Xian took Pang Lei and Ye Qian to collect soil samples around the pit.

The entire site is divided into more than ten sampling points. The purpose of this is to serve as a reference and comparison.

Some people may ask, what is the use of taking soil samples?  In fact, there is a lot of mystery inside.  For example, if a certain heavy metal in the soil exceeds the standard and is found on the bones, then it can be ruled out that the deceased died of poisoning.  However, if soil samples are not taken for comparative testing, it will lead to a deviation in the direction of the investigation and bring considerable difficulty to the detection of the entire case.

And at this moment, I, the only one with some spare time, focused my attention on the deceased¡¯s thousand-layer cloth shoes.  A detail leads tocaught my attention.

I quickly picked up the deceased¡¯s left shoe and observed it carefully, then changed to the right shoe.  The different wear characteristics of the soles of the two shoes made my eyes light up. I turned back to Brother Ming very excitedly and said: "The deceased may be a taxi driver." (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.  com
