While Li Guoyao's troops were busy expanding their troops to launch a breakthrough attack, the Kwantung Army was dealing with the second, third and fourth columns on the western front.

In order to avenge the annihilation of the Ninth Division, the Little Devils spent a lot of money this time. Not only did they dispatch the 14th Division and the 29th Division, but they also mobilized a large number of Japanese and puppet troops from the Jidong and Rehe areas.

On the front line of Tongliao alone, the Japanese army had three divisions plus a mixed brigade. The puppet troops cooperating with the battle also had three infantry brigades plus a cavalry regiment. The total strength reached an unprecedented 60,000 people.

The Northeastern Advance Army did not show weakness here. The three columns totaled more than 50,000 people. They started from Balinzuo Banner in Chifeng in the west to Zhengjiatun (Shuangliao) in Tongliao in the east and to Wangye Temple in the north. They constantly dealt with the Japanese army.

Since the Chinese army is all cavalry, it is very mobile and flexible. Although the Japanese army also has some cavalry, and many people travel with cars, most of them are infantry, and they are not as mobile as the Chinese army.

But the Japanese army has a large number of fighter planes, so both sides have their own advantages. This battle is a mutual victory.

The Japanese army thought they had found the mysterious force that could annihilate the Ninth Division, so they held on to it. However, Zhou Qiang, Chow Dafu and others were ordered to drag the tens of thousands of Japanese troops to the outside to provide cover for the troops in the hinterland of Northeast China.  Buying time, so the two sides "cooperate" is not bad.

At this moment, something unexpected happened to the Kwantung Army Headquarters.

On January 10, a convoy rushing from Xinjing to Fengtian was ambushed by the Chinese army. Colonel Ohno Kaijiro, the second intelligence section chief of the Kwantung Army, was killed, and a dozen of the accompanying intelligence elites were killed at the same time.

This convoy consists of a car and 12 military trucks. It is not small in scale. In addition to important people, the escort team alone has more than 300 people, so the little devils did not expect that the Chinese army would ambush them halfway.

But when the convoy passed through Fanjiatun in Gongzhuling, it was suddenly ambushed by the Chinese army. Everyone was killed and no one survived.

More importantly, Ohno Osaka went south this time to report important information to the Kwantung Army headquarters. Now that the man is dead, all the intelligence documents he carried have been lost, which makes the Kwantung Army very nervous.

The main reason is that the information lost by Ohno and others is the Second Intelligence Section's investigation of the strength of the Soviet Far East Military Region and the revision opinions on the Soviet combat plan. These are top-secret information obtained by the Second Intelligence Section through various reconnaissance methods and comprehensive judgments. They cannot be tolerated.  There is a loss.

After the incident happened, General Yamada Yisan was shocked and angry. He immediately punished the garrison captain of Gongzhuling and also dismissed several high-ranking puppet army officials.

¡°Subsequently, Yamada Otsuzo ordered the troops from Xinjing, Fengtian and Siping to immediately dispatch to search for this mysterious enemy and retrieve the lost intelligence.

However, what frustrated the Japanese army was that although they sent a large number of troops, they never found the suspected target.

In fact, what they didn¡¯t know was that the special forces that attacked Ohno¡¯s headquarters were the special forces of the Northeast Advance Army. After realizing that the commander of the convoy was unusual, Xu Ziyu personally led the people to formulate a plan.

But when they finished their work and found out that they had killed only an army colonel, Xu Ziyu and others were still disappointed. But when he read the documents that the Japanese colonel carried with him, he was very excited. This turned out to be  The Kwantung Army's battle plan to attack the Soviet Union.

At that moment, Xu Ziyu felt like he had found a treasure and immediately sent all the documents to the Yushu headquarters overnight.

After Li Guoyao saw the intelligence sent by the special team, he was stunned. This combat plan was very complete and it was obviously not made hastily.

According to this plan, the Kwantung Army intends to launch an attack on the Soviet troops in the Far East Military District simultaneously from land and air. Its land operation plan is to first start from the Hunchun, Dongning, Suifenhe, Jixi City and Hutou areas west of the Soviet coastal states.  Launch a centripetal attack on Vladivostok.

In the first stage of the operation, the Balabash and Manzovka areas beyond the outskirts of Vladivostok were captured to isolate Vladivostok.

The mission of each unit is: Lieutenant General Yue Liangfu's 19th Division on the Tumen River area, from Hunchun to the south, coordinates with the navy, a week after the start of the operation, capture the Soviet Army's Posetu Military Port and control Pakistan.  The land route from Labash and south to Vladivostok.

Lieutenant General Hebian Zhengsan's five divisions of the 3rd Army were responsible for the main attack. The main force started from the front of Laoheishan south of Dongning, entered the dense forest area of ????the Ostraya Mountains in the Soviet Union, and attacked along the railway line from Shuangchengzi to Vladivostok.  Advance in parallel and capture it, blocking the main external traffic on land in Vladivostok.

Lieutenant General Guan Guizhi¡¯s 20th Army¡¯s 4th Army located in Jixi CityThe regiment served as an assist, crossing the border from Pingyang Town and Banjiehe area east of Jixi City, and attacking Manzovka along the west bank of Xingkai Lake to cope with the attacks in Hunchun, Dongning and Hutou areas.

The four divisions of Lieutenant General Shigeichi Hatada's 5th Army located in Mishan crossed the Ussuri River from the Hutou area.  After capturing Iman, one unit moved south along the railway.  Attack on Spassk Darny and Manzovka, and one part will attack on the Doby Valley east of Spassk Darny and occupy the large air force base in the area to reduce the threat of the Soviet Air Force to the Japanese mainland.

After completing the capture of the areas outside Vladivostok, the second stage will be to cooperate with the navy to capture the Vladivostok area from both sea and land aspects.

If the above attack goes smoothly, three more divisions will be added to capture Khabarovsk and the area west of it.

That is, the 5th Army went north along the railway east of Ussuri to capture Khabarovsk; in the middle, it passed through the central town of Suibin County and the Zhaoxing, Mingshan, Yanxing, and Xingdong areas of Luobei County, across the Heilongjiang River, and captured Beli.  Along the railway line of Robizan, it will support the battle in the East Khabarovsk area; in the west, it will cross the Heilongpai area from Jiayin area and occupy the area along the railway line east of the Buryat River in the Soviet Union to prevent the Soviet army from reinforcing eastward.

In addition, the four divisions of the 4th Army located in the Heihe direction to support operations, after crossing the Heilongjiang River, captured the city of Hailanpao and the railway that blocked the Kuibyshev area, and then continued westward along the railway to capture the area north of Galinda.  Area along the Skovorodino Railway.

Lieutenant General Yasui Fujiharu¡¯s 6th Army, which is responsible for the defensive operations in the Hylar area on the western front, relied on the 23rd Division and the 8th Hylar Border Guards to counterattack and defend the Soviet army invading from the west.

Regarding the use of air forces, the Japanese army also made detailed planning.

According to the relevant orders of the Japanese Army Command, the flight units were immediately deployed for combat, and the 12th and 13th Fighter Flight Groups, which were under the direct jurisdiction of the Aviation Corps, were transferred to the command of the 2nd Flight Group stationed in Mudanjiang to enhance the air combat strength in the main direction of attack.  .

The adjustment of the aviation force deployment mainly involves moving the bombing force backward and moving the fighter force forward to enhance the front-line air defense force and reduce the vulnerability of the bombing force to losses at the front-line airport.

    Specific adjustments include:

The 58th Heavy Bomber Group, originally stationed at Mengli Airport in Jiamusi, was later transferred to Suihua Airport north of Harbin.

The 33rd Fighter Group, originally stationed at Xingshutun Airport in Boli County, was transferred to Jiamusi.

The 32nd Light Bomber Group, originally stationed at Xingshutun Airport, was later transferred to Harbin Shuangyushu Airport.

The No. 1 Fighter Squadron originally stationed in Harbin was transferred to Xingshutun Airport.

The 11th Fighter Group, originally stationed in Harbin, was transferred to Boli.

The 16th Light Bombing Team was originally stationed at Langlang Airport in the southern suburbs of Mudanjiang City, but was later transferred to Changchun.

The 85th Fighter Group originally stationed at Muleng (Bamiantong) Airport was relocated to Langlang Airport because it was too close to the border.

The 70th Fighter Group originally stationed in Dongning was moved to Langang, south of Ning'an, because it was too close to the border.

The 98th Heavy Bomber Group, originally stationed in Dunhua, was later transferred to Harbin Bungalow.

The 65th Attack Aircraft Group, originally stationed at Xuande Airport north of Wonsan Port in North Korea, was transferred to Dunhua.

The 6th Strike Fighter Group formerly stationed at Pyongyang Airport in North Korea was transferred to Yanji.

After the above adjustments, fighter and reconnaissance aircraft units are stationed along the railway line from Tumen to Jiamusi via Mudanjiang and to the east, which has indeed increased the air combat strength in the eastern region.

Later, they were transferred to the bombing units along the Zhongchang Road and in the area. They took advantage of the relatively stable environment behind the troops to conduct intense training and preparations for operations against the Soviet Union.

The 29th Reconnaissance Aircraft Group stationed at Wenchun Airport south of Mudanjiang is active near the long national border all day long, conducting visual and photographic reconnaissance, always watching the Soviet actions at this moment.
