Under the order of Major General Nagano, a small team of engineers appeared on the battlefield. Each of them held something like a turtle shell. Under the protection of a small number of infantry, they stepped forward to clear mines!

After seeing these Japanese soldiers and having been entangled with them for more than ten years, the soldiers of the Northeast Army all knew that the turtle shells in the hands of the little devils were bulletproof devices produced by them. When using them, they lay down on the ground and then fought in a prone position.  Can be erected and used as a bulletproof shield.

Normally, no one wants to use this thing. It is too bulky and weighs dozens of kilograms. Only the engineering troops will be able to use it.

¡°But if these Japanese engineers want to use this method to remove all the landmines on the frontier, they would be looking down on the Chinese.

Under the orders of Brigadier Wan, a dozen soldiers with accurate marksmanship were sent to the front. These people were equipped with the best guns in the army. Their task was to name the engineers.

Although most of these Japanese soldiers are equipped with turtle shells, it is not easy to clear mines and hold on to the turtle shell at the same time.

And as long as these Japanese engineers are slightly negligent, whether they expose their heads or feet, they will be shot.

In less than ten minutes, more than thirty Japanese engineers were all killed, but few landmines were cleared.

Out of rage, Major General Nagano shouted loudly: "Order the troops to retreat and let the artillery troops conduct carpet bombardment in front of the position and use artillery shells to destroy the minefields."

    "Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"

After receiving the order from Maei Fukuda, the Japanese artillery brigade did not dare to neglect and immediately carried out strategic artillery bombardment on the land within a hundred meters in front of the defender's position in an attempt to destroy the defender's minefield.

In Heze City, the 111th Division Artillery Battalion position.

Six Japanese-made mountain cannons and more than a dozen small steel cannons were lined up in an orderly manner. More than 300 artillerymen were on standby at any time, waiting for the order from battalion commander Liang Deshui!

Looking at the watch, he asked solemnly: "Have you figured out the coordinates of the kid's artillery position?"

"Sir, we have found out that the six o'clock direction in the east of the city is initially judged to be in Niuzhuang." A rough-looking young officer replied.

"Niuzhuang, that's right, that's right there. Order the brothers to immediately launch an artillery attack on Niuzhuang. There is no need to debug and fire Zhuyuan. Fire ten rounds at a rapid rate. After that, move the position immediately. Don't give the little devils a chance to retaliate."

    "yes!"

With Liang Deshui¡¯s firing order, the few artillerymen of the 57th Army opened fire at the same time, and the artillery shells hit the Japanese artillery positions at the front!

    "Boom" "Boom" "Boom"

The Japanese artillery was stunned by the sudden shelling. They never thought that the Chinese army would open fire at this time.

Most of them did not even expect that the Chinese army was equipped with large-caliber artillery such as mountain artillery.

After fighting with the Chinese army for so many years, it is basically impossible for troops at the regiment level to have real large-caliber artillery. They only have a few small direct-fire cannons. Troops at the division and brigade level are also at roughly the same level, except for direct-fire artillery.  There are slightly more cannons, but that's about it.

Only troops at the corps level or group army level may have large-caliber artillery, but the number is very small. Basically, an A-type corps has no more than 12 guns at most.

Before the war, the base camp sent a large number of spies and agents to investigate the strength of the Chinese army, and concluded that the Chinese army far exceeded the Imperial Japanese Army in terms of numbers. Its total strength may be more than ten times that of the Imperial Japanese Army.  There are more than 200 combat units at the division and brigade level alone, not counting the huge number of local security forces.

In fact, several major warlords in China have much more troops than the Imperial Japanese Army. For example, Yan Xishan of the Shanxi-Suiyuan Army controls the two provinces of Shanxi-Suiyuan.  to between 300,000 and 300,000.

Another example is the Northeast Army that retreated to the pass. Although this unit suffered a lot of losses after September 18, its number is still astonishing, around 250,000.

At this time, the total number of navy and army of the Imperial Japanese Army was just over 200,000, not more than 250,000.

But But in terms of combat effectiveness, the Imperial Japanese Army completely defeated the Chinese army. The most intuitive reflection is that the Chinese army has a strength advantage, but it is far behind the Imperial Japanese Army in terms of firepower.  Especially the Eighth Route Army, the New Fourth Army, and the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces. Not to mention heavy weapons such as mortars and mountain cannons, even bullets are very scarce. The weapons and ammunition mainly rely on captured weapons. Whether such troops can face the Imperial Japanese Army is still unknown.  .

And the national army on the frontal battlefield was divided due to various factions.??? Naturally, the quantity and quality of weapons among various units also vary.  But the general view is that the Central Army has good equipment and large numbers.  But even so, there is a huge gap between the Chinese army and the Imperial Japanese Army in terms of firepower. The reason is that the Chinese army is extremely short of heavy weapons and artillery shells.

?According to the investigation of THIKO, as early as Showa 10, the Nanjing government began to expand armaments and reorganize troops.  According to statistics, the arsenal under the central government has 10 million rounds of ammunition in stock, 20 million rounds of ammunition being manufactured, and 30 million rounds of ammunition ordered from abroad. A total of 60 million rounds of ammunition can supply one of 10 four-regiment divisions.  Two-thirds of the monthly supply was needed, and each unit only had enough ammunition for one and a half months.

After the Japanese Incident broke out in Showa 12, the Nanjing Ordnance Industry Administration counted only 500 million rounds of ammunition, 120,000 Bufu-type mountain artillery shells and 100,000 K-type field artillery shells in stock on the north bank of the Yangtze River, totaling 210,000.  , only enough for 20 divisions for three months.

In terms of weapons, although the Nationalist Government purchased weapons from Germany, France, Italy and other countries, it was very lacking in heavy weapons.  For example, the so-called elite German weapon masters did not have all the German weapons and equipment as the imperial army imagined before the war.

Before the outbreak of the war, there were 20 adjustment divisions equipped with a small amount of German weapons, such as the 36th Division, the 87th Division, and the 88th Division. All divisions used medium-sized rifles, and the machine guns were their own imitations of Czech and Maxim heavy machine guns.  The mortars used at the regiment and battalion levels are imitations of the French Brande 81mm mortar, which is the Type 20 82mm mortar. A very few regiments have the Hayiha 75mm infantry gun.

The 87th and 88th Artillery Divisions directly under the division use the Imperial Taisho 6th-year-old 75mm mountain cannon (Type 41), with 12 guns per battalion. The 36th Division uses the 38th-year field gun and the 6th-year-old mountain gun.  For tank defense artillery, only the 87th Division and the 88th Division were each assigned to a company of 6 guns, but the 36th Division did not.

Among the field forces of German weapons, only the teaching corps can compete with the same combat units of the Imperial Japanese Army in terms of artillery firepower. Each of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th regiments of this army has a flat-fire artillery battery, equipped with 47mm flat-fire cannons 4-  6 guns, in addition to an infantry artillery battery, equipped with 4-6 German-made 75mm infantry guns, and 4 German-made 37mm anti-aircraft guns. The artillery battalion directly under it is a subsidiary of the German Krupp Arms Industry, and the Swedish Bu  There are a total of 12 Bufus m1930 75mm mountain guns manufactured by the Fuchs factory.

But even if the equipment is not much different from the Imperial Army, the artillery shells are far less abundant than the Imperial Army, and the combat effectiveness is even more incomparable.

According to T&G's investigation, the unit in front of them was the 57th Army of the National Army. This unit was one of the Northeastern armies that Chiang Kai-shek paid the least attention to. It was very poor in terms of strength and weapons and equipment, coupled with internal strife and so on.  For other reasons, the Japanese artillery on the front line did not pay attention to their sudden counterattack, and were eventually caught off guard.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
