Chapter 813 Ready

The Juliu River was called Gouliu River and Juli River in ancient times. It was called Daliao River in the Han Dynasty and was called Juliu River in the Qing Dynasty.

Investigating its origin, there are two folk legends: one is that there are many willow trees along the river, which is homophonic to "giant willow" and is called "giant stream"; the other is that the Liaohe River reaches Tieling and Xinmin areas because it contains Qinghe River, Chaihe River, Xiushui River and so on.  The main tributaries include the Liuhe River, the Raoyang River and the Yangximu River. The river surface is vast and the water is vast, so this section is called the Juliu River.

On closer inspection, the latter statement is more reasonable.  Because before the Qing Dynasty, the Xinmin section of the Liaohe River was a boundless water country and a vast swamp, and it was indeed a "giant stream".

From Guannai to Shenyang via the Western Liaoning Corridor, the only way is to go south from Beizhen and cross the Liaohe River. There is no way to pass through the Xinmin section.  It was not until the opening of the "Great Imperial Road" during the Huangtaiji period that one could cross the Liaohe River eastward via Yong'an Bridge and pass through the Liaoxi Corridor in the pass. Therefore, the hundreds of thousands of people who fled to the Northeast in the early Qing Dynasty almost all crossed the Liaohe River from Xinmin Section to Shenyang and then dispersed.  to all parts of the Northeast.

Emperors Kangxi, Qianlong, Jiaqing and Daoguang visited the east ten times to worship their ancestors, and most of them took this route when traveling eastward and returning to Luan.  Until the Qianlong Dynasty, Chang Ji, a poet from Shenyang, still said in his poem "A Tour of the Juliu River": "The Liao River carries waves, and the great current is what it is."

The branch line of the Beijing-Shenyang Line, the railway section from Shenyang to Xinmin, was built under Japanese control.  However, extending from Xinmin to Beizhen, and then to Xing'an and other provinces in northwestern Liaoning, they are completely handled and controlled by the Fengxi government.

This is an important branch line that promotes the inland Mongolian border. The security of many important railway facilities along the way, such as bridges and passing bazaars, is borne by the local armed police forces.

At dusk on September 21, a group of armed troops with live ammunition came to the station of the 2nd Squadron of the Xinmin County Brigade of the Shenyang Detachment of the Armed Police Liaoning Corps in charge of the Juliuhe Bridge.  Although the number is not large, because they are cavalry, these numbers appear to be very spectacular.

The leading officer, whose rank was a major, ordered Hu Xiaomi, the captain of the Armed Police Squadron: "We are ordered to temporarily take over the defense of Juliuhe. Please surrender the defense area immediately and return to the camp!"

Hu Xiaomi was very vigilant: "Our department has not received the order? Please show the warrant." The management systems of the armed police and the army are not the same, and their responsibilities lie, so I have a question.

The major was very sure: "I just received a phone call for an urgent order. You can go to the top for confirmation, but please don't delay the military situation!" He stepped forward and whispered: "The commander will pass here tonight and will do a lot of things along the way.  Level alert."

Now Hu Xiaomi believed it, Zhang Zuolin is staying in Shenyang now.  However, he was somewhat critical of the commander-in-chief's choice of soldiers instead of armed police for his security: "Our police school teachers all said, 'There are specialties in the profession.' It's not about attacking cities and defending territory. When it comes to guarding and security work, the army may not have our armed police.  Well done.¡±

"But the army came forward, so he should give in."  However, he still sent someone to report to the top, and the reply he received was: "Of course the military tasks take priority!" So he was happy to have some time at ease.

After the armed police force left, the army quickly took control of both ends of the railway bridge.  Not long after, a large group of people came from a distance, all dressed in short skirts.  This group of people looked secretive, and they all carried small bags, and some of them carried larger bags with bulging bags and no one knew what was inside.  Since it was almost night, I couldn't see clearly.

Seeing that there were soldiers on the railway bridge, they stood up from a distance.  At this time, a man walked over in a swaggering manner. He asked the soldiers: "Which team is your unit from?"

The major came out and asked warily: "What do you do?"

The man held up his hand and said, "Brother, I have a batch of yellow croakers to cross the bridge. I wonder if I need to pay for the passage?"

The major raised his hand to let people go: "I won't collect taxes on my behalf - please cross the bridge."

Seeing that the code was correct, the man waved and the group of people came over.  Although the major didn't recognize them, looking at their steps and expressions, he roughly knew that they were all soldiers.  Each of them has their own tasks, so they don't see each other much.

The soldiers under my command had all said hello, and did not stop the movements of this group of people. Even those who had doubts were told that they were "maintaining the bridge deck."  They were all illiterate men. They were instinctively afraid of these tough guys, so they ignored them.

This group of people are the people who were appointed to blow up the bridge. The people who did it were arranged by Sun Meiyao, and the explosives were prepared by Japan.

The military personnel came forward and were very agile. In a short period of time, Sun Meiyao obtained 200 kilograms of yellow explosives.  In order to facilitate carrying and hiding, Japanese experts broke down these explosives into 40 small bags, each weighing only 5 kilograms.

To prevent human eyes and ears, the words "cement powder" or "paint powder" are also marked on the outside of the pouch.  An agent who is a weapons expert is very good at doing this kind of thing.

This unit is the Li Shouxin Cavalry Regiment that was transferred from Duolun to Dahu Mountain on a starry night.  Before that, they had secretly marched south for a long time under the pretense of training.  Just to deceive others, it was not until the morning of that day that they suddenly approached the Dahu Mountain area.  Of course, the order to mobilize troops was issued by the Shenyang Military Region Headquarters, and the director of the political department of the regiment and others believed it.

Even though they were friends, Sun Meiyao didn't dare to say too much.  The assassination of Zhang Zuolin is not a trivial matter. Not only will there be many accidents during the process, but also subsequent tracing must be avoided.  So Sun Meiyao decided to go to Guandong State to remain anonymous for a while after finishing this job. Anyway, with one hundred thousand oceans in hand, it would be enough for a long time.

And Li Shouxin made a huge bet: He didn't put the explosives, and he didn't give the order to mobilize troops. He thought he still had a buffer: if something happened midway or Zhang Zuolin didn't come, he would  It is completely possible to make one inference and not to know the other three.

Now that everything was going well, he began to carefully plan his plan: as soon as the explosives went off, he would run away.  Before that, he deposited the 100,000 yuan he took privately into the Taisho Bank of Japan in Northeast China without anyone noticing.

Although they were in vain, these skilled people still completed the task quickly.  Before midnight, Sun Meiyao and his group secretly placed the 40 bags of explosives under the Juliu River Cave Bridge, and then hid under the cover of night under the roadbed 10 meters away, only to wait for a few hours to emerge from the roadbed.  When the train from Shenyang passes by, press the detonator in your hand.

In the early morning of the 22nd, Japanese Consul General in Shenyang Kujiro Hayashi got up very early, climbed to the roof of his house and looked habitually in the direction of the Juliu River with a telescope, although he could not see anything.  In another hour, around 6:25, Zhang Zuolin's train should arrive at Juliuhe Bridge.

With the planned explosive power, not only this train, but also the bridge foundation below it will be blown off.  In this way, even if Zhang Zuolin was not killed in the explosion, he would have fallen into the rushing river along with the train.

With such a high altitude and a high-speed train, there was absolutely no possibility for him to survive. There was only one outcome: whether Zhang Zuolin was killed by the explosion or drowned.
