    Zhang Hanqing also set his sights on the United States.

    A war with Japan is inevitable. Zhang Hanqing also imagined that the sign of China's rise in the world is to defeat Japan. Throughout world history, the rise of an emerging power is often based on defeating another power.  Completed:

    After the Netherlands and Britain defeated the Spanish Armada, they created a century of glory as a "sea coachman";

    Britain laid the foundation of the ¡°Empire on which the Sun Never Sets¡± through two Anglo-Dutch wars;

    Germany completed the country's unification by defeating France and finally became stronger;

    Japan rose through the Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War;

    After defeating Britain in the War of Independence, the United States actively used troops against France, Britain, and Mexico, becoming the largest country in the capitalist world and enjoying everlasting prosperity

    "It is simply wishful thinking for China to join the ranks of major powers and to gain a respected position in the world without going through a war.  And among all the major countries, the one with the best chance of fighting China is still Japan.

    There will definitely be a war between China and Japan, but it must not be now.

    How to reduce resistance and even get the support of the United States when it rebuilds, and how to form an alliance with the United States, and how to use the interests of Japan, the Soviet Union, and the United States to enable China to survive and grow in the cracks, so as to minimize the risk of  Zhang Hanqing has been thinking hard about how the short-term Sino-Japanese conflict will provide time for China to recuperate and develop in an all-round way.

    The Zhang Zuolin government that unified the mainland was no worse than the Beiyang government or the Anhui clique in "protecting the traditional interests of the United States."  Instead of restricting the British, Zhang Hanqing acquiesced to the reinforcement of American power in the Yangtze River Basin of China: China's major ports from south to north, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shantou, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Yantai and Dagu, all controlled  U.S. warships open.

    For the United States, almost all new and old warships belonging to the Yangtze River Patrol and South China Patrol are unable to sail and cannot travel between China and the Navy's main Asian supply base in Cavite, Luzon Island, Philippines. Therefore, all warships that are broken are in Shanghai or  Repairs at Hong Kong's civilian shipyards.

    The activities of the warships used by the Asiatic Fleet for navigation were already regular by 1925: most of the fleet's warships spent the winter in Cavite from October to March, conducting repairs and exercises in Philippine waters; and in the summer they were off the northern coast of China.  Conducting exercises or visiting ports nearby, submarines have a summer base in Qingdao and destroyers have a summer base in Yantai.

    ¡° Chinese officials and military circles have all responded positively to the presence of U.S. officers and soldiers. This evaluation and the great enthusiasm shown have even infected the vast majority of U.S. front-line commanders.

    In August 1925, the commander of the South China Patrol e©q  t©q  Captain Constantine to Roger.  Admiral Wells wrote: "If foreigners can give up a temporary self-interest, then China, with a population of 450 million, will become the largest market in the world.  The United States is the country that receives preferential treatment."

    An indirect effect of this quarterly movement of the fleet was discussed in the "Beihua Jiebao" of May 15, 1926. The newspaper reported the arrival of eleven submarines and two submarine supply ships in Qingdao, noting: "The arrival of U.S. warships  The arrival has brought new life to the city, and¡the money spent by the sailors here every year is a great source of money for the prosperity of the city.¡±

    Because of this good relationship, when the top brass of the People's Army headed by Zhang Hanqing euphemistically hoped that the United States could provide China with certain support in the fields of submarines and naval aviation, the Song family acted as a bridge with its deep popularity in the United States.  Therefore, there is no doubt that Song Meiling became Zhang Hanqing's right-hand assistant and relatively close comrade in foreign affairs.

    In early 1926, the U.S. political circles finally relaxed their blockade on China's submarine technology, sold two U.S-made "S" class small submarines during World War I to the Chinese Navy, and sent design drawings.  In addition, the United States has given China great convenience in the manufacturing of the aviation industry - aircraft, as an emerging military industry group, are not yet among the banned exports to China by major countries.

    The boundary between military and civilian aircraft was so blurred in the early days that special modifications were basically not needed. A machine gun on a civilian aircraft could transform it into a fighter jet.  This means that China's air power has not encountered malicious encirclement by its peers since its establishment. This is a blessing.

    The political and economic ties between China and the United States are so close that there are even rumors about whether China and the United States are willing to establish a military alliance.

    At a sensitive time for China to absorb German military technology - at this time, China was still a country that restricted the import of military equipment under Japan's suggestion, and the Americans were the first to acquiesce in breaking it.  This is a signal: China is no longer the target of restrictions by Western countries led by the United States, but has gradually become a "little partner" in realizing its interests in Asia.

    This is a positive signal, which is enoughIt is organized into the 3rd Destroyer Fleet, with the 2,600-ton "Zhaohe" training cruiser as the flagship, and is managed by the South China Fleet.  The advantage of this is that similar warships are grouped together, which is more advantageous in terms of training and supplies.

    The other old ships under 200 tons are simply assigned to the peripheral patrols of each base.  Warships are kept here for fighting. The old-style small warships that can only run in inland rivers should not be of much use for the time being. It is better to have less than to waste.

    I remember the non-German "Wolf Pack" tactics and the use of Japanese carrier aviation that had a major impact on the sea during World War II.  Although China started slowly, it can directly catch up with these two areas.  At this time, D?nitz was still serving as his naval captain, and Yamamoto Isoroku was serving as his naval attache at the Japanese Embassy in the United States.  China is a big step ahead of them.

    Zhang Hanqing¡¯s contribution to China is that he can use the advantage of his experience to allow China¡¯s military to develop rapidly in a direction that is ahead of the times and avoid detours.  Zhang Hanqing's limited military knowledge was fully utilized at this time. To be honest, this was the best era.  (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
