    Chapter 5

Since the city issued regulations strictly prohibiting the setting off of fireworks and firecrackers within the urban area, the Spring Festival in Jicheng has been without any atmosphere.  Fortunately, the Zhuque Lane area still maintains a centuries-old custom - the temple fair, which is also a lively place.  There are sellers of cheap candies, calendars and New Year pictures, southern and local handicrafts, and people selling fireworks secretly at the corners of the alley. Zhuque Alley enjoys a rare prosperity in these few days.

Chen Wan was so busy that she could hardly breathe. As a senior in high school, she only had half a month of winter vacation. This was because the students in No. 1 Middle School were not very motivated. Several key middle schools in the city only had New Year's Eve and the first year of junior high school.  Two days off.  She has been busy since the beginning of the holiday. During the seven-day temple fair, Zhuque Lane Street was crowded with people, mostly diners.  From when I open my eyes in the morning to when I lie down in the early morning, there is no time to sit down in between.  Although I have been at my uncle's house for more than two years and have experienced such overloaded work, my feet are still swollen and I can only wear half-length shoes.

The aunt looked distressed and advised her to go back and rest.  How can she bear it?  Xiaoyu didn't know anything about the kitchen. When he was collecting money and settling accounts outside, he would make careless calculations. He would probably lose a lot of business just relying on his uncle and aunt. Anyway, he was only busy for these few days throughout the year, so he just gritted his teeth.  It's over.

When Fang Cunzheng came in the evening, Chen Wan was squatting on the ground in the yard, washing a pile of dirty dishes.  At thirty-nine days, the water was so cold that it almost froze.  Her fleshy hands were as red as two braised pig trotters from the cold and had long been numb.

Fang Cunzheng glanced at her pig-trottered hands and squatted down.

"What are you doing?" She snatched the plate back from his hand. Her cold was still not over, and her voice was very nasal.

"Wash the dishes." He picked up another bowl and put it into the water, saying matter-of-factly.

"Don't make trouble for me. I'll have to sweep the floor later." She pushed him with her elbow, "It's Chinese New Year, so you don't have to help your mother with the New Year's shopping?"

"I just came here to go with you. You know what my mother likes to eat better than I do."

"I don't have time." She felt a little worried when she saw him wiping the bowl casually. She took it over and checked, and sure enough, every one was greasy and there was rice sticky on the bowl. "Go, go, find it yourself if you have nothing to do."  Have fun, if you wash it, it will be the same as if you haven¡¯t washed it, I will have to rework everything."

"Who can find out when the rice is loaded?" He chuckled, earning a blank look from her boss.

"Hey, when did Cunzheng come?" Auntie brought another pile of dirty dishes, and without stopping, she went into the kitchen to get the food. "There were so many people just now that I didn't notice. I'm busy today, so I can't greet you."  , don¡¯t be offended?¡±

"Aunt He, you are so polite after we are so familiar." Fang Cunzheng saw Uncle Chen Wan coming out with him, stood up straight, wiped his wet hands on his legs, and then offered Gong Ziqiang a cigarette, "Uncle Gong, happy New Year."

Chen Wan was delighted, "When did you learn to be polite?"

Fang Cunzheng¡¯s face turned hot. Fortunately, it was dark and he couldn¡¯t see whether he was blushing. When he saw Uncle Chen Wan taking the cigarette, he felt relieved.

"I just heard that you asked Xiaowan to help with the New Year shopping?" Gong Ziqiang's expression was not as serious as usual because of the joy of the New Year, and he even had a slight smile.

"Yes, I have been busy before the year and couldn't take care of it." Fang Cun showed his usual respectful attitude in front of Gong Ziqiang.

"It's okay. The busiest time is over now. Xiaowan is tired enough during the holidays. Just take her for a walk and come back early."

"Auntie!" Chen Wan shouted, how could she walk away?

"Go ahead, go ahead." Her aunt pushed her, because the child's skin was a little darker, and her actions were a little darker, otherwise the couple in front of her would look so well matched.

Seeing that her uncle had no objection, Chen Wan packed up the rest before going out with Fang Cunzheng.

Fang Cunzheng dragged Chen Wan out through the back alley to avoid the crowds on the main street. A black Toyota SUV was parked at the entrance of the alley.  Seeing that he opened the right door naturally, Chen Wan couldn't help but panic, "You stole the car! You are crazy, you will be caught!"

The sound was a bit loud, and several people passing by looked back.  Fang Cunzheng was showing off his pride for less than two seconds before she poured cold water on him. He was so angry that his hair almost stood on end, "My only life is to drive a motorcycle? I bought this car new!"

    Chen Wan was stunned.

"Get in the car quickly. It's freezing."

"Did you really buy it?" Chen Wan looked at the leather chairs and electric windows, still unable to believe it.  "Is it so easy to make money by opening a bar? I've said it many times, you can't do more than slaughter sheep. If you kick the iron plate one day, you'll be in trouble."

"We're celebrating the Chinese New Year, can you say some auspicious words?" Fang Cunzheng glared at her, "I rarely go to bars,??The best thing to do is lock up Dian San and the others.  He thought about it in his mind, but did not dare to show a trace of panic on his face for fear of scaring her.

He was so concerned about his brother's safety that he forgot about Chen Wan next to him. Now he couldn't help but regret that he shouldn't have brought her here.  "Why don't you take a taxi back first?"

"Say this now? Uncle Liu is here."

While talking, Liu Chengwu entered the parking lot in a police car. The driver was Xiao Li, whom Fang Cunzheng also knew.

He got out of the car first and opened the door for Liu Chengwu. Before Liu Chengwu could stand still, he yelled at him, "How do those damn boys under you do things? Dogs have eaten their eyes out? It's almost the Chinese New Year, so give it to me."  How many days can you stay calm?" After saying that, he hit Fang Cunzheng on the head with the briefcase in his hand.

The two Fang Cunzheng brothers had been accustomed to being beaten by him since they were young, so they just let him beat him a few times to get angry before asking: "Uncle Liu, what's going on? The monkey left late, and he couldn't tell what happened.  He just said that he was beaten."

When he said Liu Chengwu, he became even more angry and hit him hard on the forehead a few times, "Being beaten? That thing deserves to be beaten to death. Why don't you wash your eyes when you come out to fool around? Just now, the city bureau called specifically to ask about the situation. One of them was Deputy Jiang  The mayor's son, there are two more awesome ones you can't afford to mess with. Prepare the medical expenses, apologize to me, and be detained for fifteen days, which will be regarded as his ancestor's merit." (Remember this.  Website address: www.hlnovel.com
