Meng Zitao felt a little funny after hearing this.  Last week, the two of them completed their previous bet.  I don¡¯t know whether he was very lucky or Cheng Qiheng was very unlucky. In the end, the thing he bought was slightly better.

This result made Cheng Qiheng very depressed. If Meng Zitao's things were thousands of dollars more expensive than him, let's not say it. The result was only slightly better. How could he be willing to accept it?

Some friends may want to say that there is no fixed price for antiques. The value depends entirely on the buyer's price. How can Meng Zitao still win with a slight advantage?

Wang Zhixuan certainly mentioned this when he was judging.  The main reason was that the item Cheng Qiheng bought was relatively unpopular and had few buyers. Its market value and collection value were not as high as Meng Zitao's. Because of this, Meng Zitao's item won by a slight advantage.

But when this happened, Cheng Qiheng was very unconvinced, so he decided to compete again this Sunday.  Moreover, the money has also changed from one thousand to five thousand.

However, Meng Zitao was currently focused on the two treasures in his hands. He had long forgotten about the bet on Java Island. He didn't think about it until Cheng Qiheng appeared in front of him.

Meng Zitao looked at what Cheng Qiheng had in his hand and said, "Don't tell me that you will want to win with this work in your hand."

"Of course." Cheng Qiheng looked proud: "I tell you, this painting will definitely blind your eyes!"

Meng Zitao smiled and said: "Come on, I have never heard of you. You are also proficient in calligraphy and painting, so don't let your eyes wander."

Meng Zitao¡¯s words are not a joke, because among the many categories of antiques, the identification of calligraphy and painting is the most difficult.  It is said that collectors in the past dynasties have bought fakes. These collectors include emperors, famous ministers, great artists, great businessmen, great literati, and great scholars. This shows how difficult it is to identify calligraphy and paintings.

    why is that?

Let¡¯s take an example. To judge the authenticity of ancient calligraphy and painting, according to common sense, the artistic level of the work should of course be the main basis for judgment.  However, the actual forgeries of ancient calligraphy and painting are not just simple imitations by later generations, and are sometimes difficult to accurately identify.

The reason why we say this is that the story of Dong Qichang, a calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty, can illustrate this problem.

It is said that a businessman wanted to buy a book by Dong Qichang, but he was afraid of buying a fake, so he bribed Dong's family guests.  The man asked him to prepare a lot of money and go to see Dong Qichang.  Dong Qichang polished the ink and spread the paper in front of the businessman, and finished it with one wave.  After the businessman got the calligraphy, he hung it in the middle hall, and all the guests praised it when they saw it.

The next year, the businessman passed by Dong's Mansion again because of something. He happened to meet a person getting off the sedan chair and entering the mansion. People on the road heard that this was "Dong Zongbo" returning to the mansion.

As a result, the businessman was stunned, because he found that this person was not the "Dong Qichang" he had met last year, and he couldn't help but screamed loudly.

Seeing this, Dong Qichang stepped forward to inquire. After asking what happened, he wrote to the merchant again.  The businessman was overjoyed. After returning home, he showed off to others, but everyone who knew some calligraphy thought that the previous calligraphy was better.

Some people may think that this story is an exaggeration, but in fact, Dong Qichang himself wrote in the inscription that "there are many fake tripods that are better than the author of the imitations", which means that among those imitators, there are indeed some people whose calligraphy is better than him.  It can be seen that these records also have some truth.

From this story, it is not difficult to see that some fakes were already difficult to judge at the time, let alone hundreds or thousands of years later?

For example, when the Forbidden City was appraising some ancient paintings and calligraphy, experts sometimes had conflicting opinions and it was difficult to reach a unified conclusion. They could only record their opinions and leave them to future generations for appraisal reference.

It is precisely because the appraisal of calligraphy and painting is so difficult, and it also requires high knowledge accumulation. Therefore, although Meng Zitao was quite interested in calligraphy and painting at the beginning, he still gave up after thinking of the difficulties involved.  Of course, there are also reasons why good calligraphy and painting works are too expensive and he cannot afford them.

Back to the topic, after hearing what Meng Zitao said, Cheng Qiheng chuckled and said, "I am indeed not very proficient in calligraphy and painting works, but how could I not see the original work in front of me?"

When Meng Zitao heard this, he didn¡¯t know what to say. This is a nonsense, who knows whether it is true or false?

However, he didn¡¯t want to undermine Cheng Qiheng¡¯s confidence now, so he said, ¡°Let¡¯s go then. Where do you think we should go?¡±

¡°Let¡¯s just go to Uncle Wang¡¯s shop.¡± Cheng Qiheng said.

Meng Zitao said: "Is Uncle Wang here?"

Cheng Qiheng took it out of his pocketp; "Zheng Banqiao painted bamboo with appropriate shades, both wet and dry, and used both the middle and side edges. Incorporating calligraphy into the painting, the thin leaves in the bamboo are written with Huang Tingjian's 'floating and thin' calligraphy style; the fat leaves in the bamboo are written with Su Shi's 'short and strong' calligraphy.  Written in fat's calligraphy"

Wang Zhixuan talked about several characteristics of Zheng Banqiao's bamboo paintings, which made Cheng Qiheng smile bitterly and look very depressed.

Seeing this, Wang Zhixuan shook his head and said: "Xiao Cheng, as for you, I think you really haven't touched calligraphy and painting yet. After all I have said, don't you see the characteristics of this painting?"

"Characteristics?" Cheng Qiheng looked at the painting in front of him, thought for a while, and said, "If I want to talk about characteristics, it should be very similar to it."

Wang Zhixuan turned his head and asked Meng Zitao: "Xiao Meng, what do you think?" (Remember the website address: www.hlnovel.com
