    The Eighth World 10

    Two days ago

The mist blurred the bright lights.

In the mist, the man stood with his backlight. The water vapor and halo softened his handsome and cold facial lines. The bathrobe he put on in a hurry was loosely tied, revealing a somewhat strong chest. In the mist, a pair of clothes that were three-thirds similar to his were visible.  There was no sign of softness in the gray-blue eyes, which were as calm and indifferent as a sharp dagger, piercing the heart through the warm mist in the room.

It seems like a bystander who despises the mortal world, or a cold and bloodthirsty predator, bringing tremors deep into the soul of those who are looked at.

    So strange.

Until he finally spoke, cold words slipped out from the familiar teeth:

    "Edward."

Or sighing, or murmuring, or just chewing the words without emotion. Before Edward had time to capture the tones and tones, the vague emotions between the words, they hurriedly slipped from his fingertips and disappeared without a trace.

He only had time to smile, put on his most skilled and perfect face, and picked up his subconscious voice that he was best at:

    "elder brother."

    ¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

The bright lights illuminate the spacious corridor as bright as daylight, making it completely impossible to tell that we are deep underground, far away from the sun.  The thick carpet is soft and fine, as if it absorbs all sounds, and no one can hear the movement of people walking.

A servant with a low eyebrow walked in front of Edward, leading him forward. After only turning three or two corners, he stopped and opened the door of one of the rooms.

He half-bowed to invite Edward into the room, then quietly exited, and respectfully closed the door when he left.

    Edward looked at the room.

The finely textured walls are equipped with thick mahogany wainscoting, and the retro-style gilded candlesticks shine with decorative fluorescence on the marble fireplace.  Several rooms extend deep, and only a few shadows can be seen at the entrance.

He took off his coat and stretched out his hand to loosen the collar.

A pair of gray-blue eyes that were still smiling even though they were not smiling, actually had a somewhat unfamiliar condensation after they fell silent.

He took off his cufflinks and placed them on the table beside him. He moved his fingers slightly and saw an invisible force field spreading, enveloping the entire room airtightly.

After the force field was completed, the gentle expression on Edward's face melted like thin ice and snow under the scorching sun, and then disappeared without a trace, leaving only the coldness of marble.

A pair of sharp eyes quickly scanned every corner of the room, as if they could see through the walls, making every trace of shadow hidden in the corners appear.

After confirming that there were no monitoring or monitoring methods in the room, he relaxed his vigilance slightly, pulled up a chair and sat down.

Edward pulled out the light screen he carried with him from his compressed packet. He lowered his head and stared at the blue screen, his fingers half hanging in the air, and he didn't move for a long time.

Finally, he pushed away the light screen irritably, tapping his fingers nervously on the armrests of the chair.

    ?¡Evans Jorridle

    ¡Evans

This name lingered in his mind like a curse, lingering and refusing to leave.

His blood brother, his childhood protector, and his only friend.

It¡¯s just that all of this must be coupled with a past.

Fuzzy images flashed through his mind.

Edward frowned and pressed his fingers on his temples, as if trying to drive something out of his mind.

As the second son of a branch of a huge family, not to mention the entire family, even the inheritance rights of his branch are completely delusional. Therefore, he is already in his position to be sent to the master's family and grow up with the second son of the master's family and become friends.  The greatest gift a person can receive.

    Butthis is totally not enough

There is a haze accumulating in the gray-blue eyes.

Why does his origin determine his future, while a person with no talent can get everything he dreams of?  Ambition burned and swelled in his chest, burning and licking his heart. He smiled as usual every day, but the repressed unwillingness screamed in distortion.

    And Evans

A trace of complicated emotions flashed across Edward's eyes, but they were suppressed instantly.

As the second son who has the opportunity to inherit the Yiren family,?You are almost standing at the top of an abyss, and if you take one wrong step, you will be doomed.  However, his childishness and innocence are completely different from those of a member of the Joridel family: highly talented, but ignorant, proud and conceited, but in other respects, he is as naive as a child.

Edward knew that he was treating her differently, and he also noticed the carefully suppressed affection in Evans' eyes when he looked at him.

    He pretended not to know.

He told himself that this was the best for each other.

He told himself that this was in his best interest.

But when he saw that the eyes that once held so much tenderness were now only cold and unfamiliar, he felt a vague sting that could not be concealed in the heart that he thought he had turned into stone.

Edward¡¯s fingertips were so hard that they turned white, his teeth were clenched, his handsome face was tense, and there was a gloomy color in his eyes.

He hated him when Evans forcibly sent him away from the center of the power struggle in the name of protecting him.

I hate this nominal brother who deprived him of the opportunity to realize his ambition for his own selfish reasons, and made everything he worked so hard to go to waste.  Driven by a mixture of anger and hatred, he turned to the forces of Samar.

In the five years since he left Central City, the battles in Central City have been raging, and because of the failure of the power struggle, Evans was sent to the eastern part of the empire to become the warden - while Edward watched with cold eyes.

Immediately afterwards, just as Samar promised, he returned to Central City.

As if in a dream, he was close to the core of power, and his power was growing like a snowball. He trained his subordinates, moved among the major families, worked hard, and never relaxed or stopped for a moment.

He had almost forgotten about Evans.

¡ª¡ªOr, he thought he had forgotten him.

Until a few days ago, Samer sent a message asking him to come to Steka Prison to meet his brother.

The shadow that he thought had been blurry suddenly became alive again, a pair of blue-gray eyes staring at him intently, as if they would never fade.

    Edward pursed his lips.

In the short five years he had cooperated with Samer, he had only seen the tip of the iceberg of that man's power. Just a glimpse of the leopard was shocking. This man did not look like a prisoner who was locked up in prison and deprived of his freedom.  Even Edward himself was terrified of it.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????¡¯??????? Almost No One Who Offends Samer Can Escape His Palm.¡±

    And his naive, naive brother

A heavy gloom flashed in Edward's eyes, and his soft facial features tightened, containing a panic-inducing pressure.

Edward only has a vague guess as to what Sam's real purpose is.  Fortunately, these speculations were enough for him to help Evans leave Samar's fatal list.

He seemed to have made up his mind.

Edward picked up the light screen again and tapped on the screen with his fingers without any hesitation.

"The relationship with the family is alienated, and the sense of belonging has almost disappeared. The growth of abilities is amazing, and the emotions"

He paused and typed out the rest of his words:

¡°¡There is no big difference from early days.¡±

    ¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù¡ù

In fact, Edward has quite complicated feelings towards the original owner. It¡¯s not that he doesn¡¯t feel anything, but that this feeling is not as important as his ambition.  In short, he is a very rational careerist.
