The Capital Law School?  Sun Yuanqi was a little confused: Doesn't this school no longer exist?

Jingshi Law School is the first government-run law school in China.  At that time, in view of the Gengzi Revolution and the humiliation of the Empress Xishou, the Qing government began to encourage reforms and implement new policies, including legal reforms.  In the 30th year of Guangxu's reign (1904), the imperial court approved the establishment of a law revision office to delete old imperial laws and draft a civil and criminal code suitable for the new situation with reference to foreign laws.

With the comprehensive deepening of legal reform, the shortage of legal talents has become increasingly apparent. Therefore, cultivating a large number of legal talents who can connect China and the West has become a top priority to ensure the comprehensive revision of old laws and the implementation of new laws.  In March of the 31st year of Guangxu (1905), Shen Jiaben, a famous jurist and minister of law revision in the late Qing Dynasty, submitted a petition to the imperial court, requesting funding for the establishment of a law school, which pioneered the creation of a law school in the late Qing Dynasty.

Shen Jiaben¡¯s memorial was finally approved by the court.  After more than a year of intense preparations, the law school finally officially opened in October of the 32nd year of Guangxu (1906). For this reason, the Qing government specially awarded a collection of ancient and modern books as a gift to celebrate the opening of the law school.  In the second year, the Law School was changed from being under the Revised Law Institute to directly under the Ministry of Law, and was officially renamed "Beijing Law School".

According to the provisions of the "Law School Charter Established by the Minister of Revising Laws", the school has two types of specialized courses and accelerated courses. Members of the imperial court are admitted to the school to study, and after graduation, they are sent to various provinces to assist with the New Deal.  Among them, the specialized scientific system lasts three years, and the curriculum is very similar to the courses of today's law schools; the accelerated scientific system takes one and a half years, and only studies 14 subjects such as Qing Dynasty regulations and Tang and Ming Dynasty laws, current legal system and the evolution of legal systems in past dynasties, general theory of law, the main ideas of the Constitution, and criminal law.  The main course aims to enable students to become the legal talents urgently needed by the government in a short period of time.

The establishment of the Capital Law School cultivated a large number of legal talents for China at that time and made certain contributions to the development of China's legal system. The talents it cultivated also played a large role in subsequent political and legal movements.  However, the Law School only opened two classes, A and B, with about 500 graduates. It was suspended before it could open Class C, and the students were merged into the Capital School of Law and Politics.

The Jingshi School of Law and Politics was founded in the 33rd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu (1907). It is a specialized school established by the Ministry of Education with the purpose of "cultivating complete generalists in law and politics". Soon the Jingshi Law School of the Ministry of Law and the Jingshi Finance School of the Du branch were simultaneously merged.  It quickly became a giant among specialized legal and political schools across the country.  But it did not exist for too long. In the hands of Sun Yuanqi in the first year of the Republic of China, it was renamed the current Beijing College of Law and Politics.

It can be said that the Jingshi Law School has long become a thing of the past. Why does Wang Xiluan still have this school in front of his name at this time?  Sun Yuanqi thought for a moment and understood what he meant: he came to petition on behalf of the Capital Law School.  What is supposed to come will always come!  Sun Yuanqi took a deep breath and said to the doorman: "Please!"

The Capital Law School was only six years old. As a graduate of the school, Sun Yuanqi initially thought that Wang Xiluan was a passionate young man in his prime.  Unexpectedly, a moment later a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties came in. He looked older than Sun Yuanqi. He bowed respectfully and said, "Wang Xiluan, a later scholar, pays homage to Mr. Sun!"

¡ª¡ªIt turns out that students at the Capital Law School were selected from serving civil servants in various central ministries and commissions, so they were generally older.  According to statistics, among the 225 graduates in the first class of the school, the oldest is 53 years old, the youngest is 18 years old, and the largest group is in the 30s.  Wang Xiluan is still relatively young in that class.

Sun Yuanqi hurriedly returned the courtesy and said: "Brother Wang is too polite! Forgive Sun for his blindness, I wonder where Brother Wang is employed? What is the purpose of your visit today?"

Wang Xiluan replied: "The surname of the later scholar is Wang Xiluan, the courtesy name is Renzhen, and he is from Lingui, Guangxi. In Guangxu Bingwu (1906), he passed the Xianhui Examination and was admitted to the Capital Law School. After graduation, he studied in the principal branch. Now he is the Higher Examiner of the Capital.  He holds the post of secretary-general of the department and teaches part-time at the Beijing Legal and Political College in his spare time. Wang is an ordinary person, so it is naturally difficult for him to get into the eyes of his teacher. Today, he has the temerity to ask for advice because he is a young learner and is confused about the regulations of the Central Society on the mutual selection of members.  I would like to ask for advice from Mr.

Wang Xiluan?  Member selection?  Sun Yuanqi suddenly remembered a piece of news published in "Declaration" a few days ago.

It is said that before Sun Yuanqi arrived in Beijing, graduates of the former Capital Law School took the lead in holding a pre-selection of members of the Central Society in Beijing, elected Wang Xiluan by secret ballot, and advocated: "In the future official elections of the Central Society, all students in our school will be elected as members of the Central Society."  Vote for Wang Jun, and use Yi to help Wang Jun be successfully elected, and bring honor to our law school." At that time, everyone present cheered and applauded in approval.  Unexpectedly, not long after, Sun Yuanqi promulgated a list of colleges and universities eligible for mutual selection, and Jingshi Law School was not on the list at all.  The previous preliminaries were like a group of eunuchs going to a brothel and becoming the whole world."Shu Zheng of Ancient Wen of Shangshu" was ridiculed by Mr. Xihe (Mao Qiling), who was famous for his erudition, as "searching for quotations from side to side, blowing the feathers and scars, and training into prison", and he wrote "Unjust Ci of Ancient Wen Shangshu" based on the book; thereafter, it was also  Mr. Wang Xi (Fang Bao)'s "Du Guwen Shangshu" and Mr. Oubei (Zhao Yi)'s "Yi Yu Cong Kao" were refuted.  If he followed today's laws, wouldn't he have no hope of learning in his lifetime?  "

Sun Yuanqi said: "Those scholars who write but do not write, do not care about leaving their writings in the world, and they have abandoned their names as members of the Central Society, so we don't need to care too much. For those who are truly knowledgeable but temporarily unable to  To gain public recognition, we can also directly nominate the president and vice-president of the Central Society to be elected as honorary members to avoid regrets. Of course, no matter how hard the society works, there will always be some outstanding scholars who cannot be selected. This is true no matter which dynasty,  No matter which country it is, it is inevitable. We will try our best to be fair and impartial, adopt multiple selection channels and multiple evaluation methods to select outstanding scholars to avoid regrets."

Wang Xiluan nodded slightly, and then asked: "I have another question. Now there is only Mr. in the Central Society. How can a professional author pass the evaluation of the Central Society? Does Mr. intend to be the one to judge the works of all scholars in the country?" (Remember  Website address: www.hlnovel.com
