    Chapter One

At the end of March, the grass grows in Wuzhen and the warblers fly, and the sun is getting warmer.

Just when school was over, the crowds pouring out of the school gate were bustling, but the blue parasol above Nanqiao's head was the most eye-catching.

Shen Qian scratched her hair irritably: "I said that you think the sun is too hot just now in spring, how can you do it in summer?"

Nanqiao squinted at the warm sun and said, "It's not like you don't know my skin. If I get too exposed to the sun, it will cause spots."

"What's wrong with the spots, I still have acne, you¡ª"

Before he finished speaking, the squad leader just happened to come up from behind. Hearing this, he turned his head and said happily, "Isn't that right? Nanqiao, you should spend less time in the sun, lest you become a freckle man again this year!"

Shen Qian flew up and kicked his ass: "What nonsense are you talking about!"

The squad leader took a soda and walked away like flying.

    Nanqiao fell silent.

Her skin has been sensitive since she was a child. Exposure to the sun will cause spots, and scratching will cause red marks, which will not disappear for a long time.  The most frightening thing is that if you accidentally fall, the place where you fell will form a scar that will later grow into a small scar. The doctor said that this is a scar constitution.

She touched her bangs uncomfortably, and carefully pulled it neatly.

I was not very happy at first, but when my eyes touched the person standing at the door of the milk tea shop, I jumped up again.

Shen Qian leaned over and said with a half-smile: "Hey, my lover is waiting for you, so I won't delay you!"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Nanqiao pushed her, his face flushed suddenly.

"Then I'll go first." Still laughing.

    Nanqiao waved to her.

Standing in front of the milk tea shop was a young man, not much older than Nanqiao, but he did not wear the same blue and white school uniform as his peers.  He was twisting a small cigarette that was about to burn out in his hand, and his thin bangs were about to cover his eyes.

The students who came and went kept him at a respectful distance, because they knew at a glance that he was a "bad boy" in the population, but there were still many girls who secretly glanced at him.

Seeing Nanqiao approaching, he threw the cigarette on the ground and stamped it out.

Nanqiao couldn't help criticizing him: "No littering is allowed."

The corners of his mouth suddenly curled up, and his bangs couldn't cover his crescent-like eyes.

"Okay, got it." He bent down to pick up the cigarette butt, and obediently threw it into the trash can beside him.

"Are you waiting for me here?" Nanqiao tugged at the hem of his clothes without looking up at him.

    "Um."

    "Is there a show tonight?"

    "Um."

    "You want my help?"

    "Um."

Nanqiao finally couldn't help but looked up at him: "Apart from um, would you say anything else?"

    "Yes." He nodded.

Nanqiao really wanted to step on him, turned around and walked forward with a droopy face, and couldn't help raising the corners of his mouth when he heard his footsteps following.

The boy behind grabbed her sleeve and handed her a cup of milk tea: "I bought it just now."

    "For me?"

    "Um."

"Every performance I ask for help, a cup of milk tea in exchange for cheap labor" She sipped and muttered.

The rich milk fragrance spread between the lips and teeth, and the mood suddenly improved.

The so-called performance is nothing more than a simple stage set up at the entrance of the alley. On the stage is a drum set decorated with colorful stickers, a rusty microphone stand, and a banner that is pulled up. I don¡¯t know how many times it has been used to make it so dirty.  Xixi, it says: wind-chaser, the best band.

Sitting behind the drum set was a chubby young man with a round belly. He saw Nanqiao from a long distance away and waved to them with the drum set: "Xiaoqiao, Ah Jin, I'm finally looking forward to you two. I'm so hungry after waiting."  Already!"

A pause at the foot of Nanqiao: "Oops, I forgot to bring food for the fat man."

Jin Yuan pulled her up and continued to walk forward, and said casually: "Don't talk to him, I let you bring food every time, who is he?"

The last sentence happened to be heard by the fat man, and he immediately protested: "My Xiaoqiao is considerate and understands that I am hungry every time. How can you be so cruel like you?"

Jin Yuan's eyes became sharp all of a sudden, and he glanced at him: "Your little bridge?"

The fat man shrank his neck in fright, and quickly changed his lines: "Your family, your family"

Dachun, who was tinkering with the sound behind the stage, laughed loudly: "Ah Jin, you are enough,?Four brothers and sisters, each standing here with a family, arguing over the money he left and the house.

    However, no one is sad.

Nanqiao watched them without saying a word, and the argument seemed to never come to an end.  She walked out of the funeral home in silence, and it was ridiculous that no one noticed her leaving.

In Wuzhen in early April, the spring rain continued.

Under the sycamore tree outside the gate, Jin Yuan stood there drenched in the rain, his thin bangs were soaked through, sticking to his forehead almost covering his eyes.

Seeing Nanqiao coming out, he anxiously went up to him: "Nanqiao."

Nanqiao responded and stopped in his tracks.

After a long time, he asked, "Where are you going?"

    Where to go?

Nanqiao also wanted to ask himself.  She wiped the rainwater off her face indiscriminately, and said, "Walk around."

    "Where is everywhere?"

    ""

    "I will accompany you."

Nanqiao himself can't remember how long he walked that day.

When she was very young, her parents divorced, and her mother went to a distant big city to have a new family.  Her father became more and more alcoholic, and would give her money when she was sober, most of the time when she was drunk, and never asked about her three meals a day.

People leave tea to cool down, and now that she is still there, relatives start fighting for money and houses.  With everything taken away, where should she go?

After being drenched in the rain for a long time, Nanqiao's head began to feel hot, and his footsteps became unsteady.

She stopped in her tracks, stood there and closed her eyes for a while, but she never expected that she would never be able to open them again.  In a trance, someone called her name in her ear.

She grabbed the man's clothes with great difficulty and said, "Take me home."

    ***

In early April, Nanqiao fell seriously ill.

During the three days of fever, she couldn't remember what she had done. She vaguely remembered calling a number she hadn't dialed for a long time, crying and calling her mother.

Someone has been taking care of her, feeding her medicine jerky, and applying cold compresses to her forehead to cool her down.

One night she seemed to hold his hand, whispering: "I have nowhere to go, no one wants me anymore"

The boy's voice was gentle and helpless, but strangely calmed her down.

He said: "I'm here, Nanqiao. I won't let you go."

Later, it was a long, long dream. She dreamed of the scene where her parents were there when she was very young, but then her parents left, and she was left alone in the empty house.

The two scenes are repeated over and over again.

Until finally waking up, she saw the dazzling sun outside the window.  Under the sun, my mother came in from the door with the medicine in hand, and called her worriedly: "Nanqiao, are you awake?"

For a moment, she thought she was still in a dream.  She didn't believe it was true until she saw more wrinkles in the corners of her mother's eyes than she remembered, and a few white hairs in her blue hair.

With tears in her eyes, her mother pulled her and kept saying, "Come with me, Nanqiao, and live with mom from now on, okay?"

Nanqiao nodded dreamily.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
