    ?

I don't know what caused the traffic jam. Anyway, the traffic jam lasted for three hours.  Therefore, my plan to rush to the Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine before 9:30 in the morning was completely ruined.  When we arrived at Nanjing Station, it was already twelve o'clock.  To be on the safe side, I called a taxi first.

After getting off the bus near Maigaoqiao Station, I casually found a fast food restaurant, and paid homage to my Wu Zang Temple as quickly as possible.  Then, came to the hospital.

It was only half past twelve at that time, and the originally bustling registration hall seemed very deserted.  Anyway, I had nothing else to do, so I picked a window at random and stood there waiting.

Perhaps it was because of the large number of windows, although I waited early, I failed to get the first number.  Came to the third floor with ease, and went straight to the specialist outpatient room.  First put the medical records on the table in order, and then wait outside the door.

Gradually, the number of people increased.  Waiting is boring, so strangers chatted enthusiastically after a simple chat.

A middle-aged woman.  Probably forty to fifty.  She said: "My health has always been very good, and I don't even know which direction the hospital is heading. Sigh, but who would have thought that when I get sick, it is cancer."

The words of the middle-aged woman reminded me of my father, so I sighed with deep empathy: "Yes. My father is also like this. He is usually in great health. When we have already started wearing coats, he still wears them.  Short sleeves! But, now, alas"

After hearing my sentimental words, everyone around me expressed their condolences one after another.  It was still that woman, it seemed that my words resonated with her, so she asked with concern: "I don't know, what your father got?"

    "Esophageal cancer"

"Esophageal cancer should be fine!" Hearing this, the middle-aged woman immediately persuaded enthusiastically, "Many patients with esophageal cancer in our country have been cured. Now, the level of medical treatment is high."

"But, my dad has relapsed." I replied with a heavy heart.

"How long has it been? Why did it relapse?" Someone asked around.

"It didn't take long. Only three months after the operation, it recurred after investigation. Alas, the main reason is that my dad's tumor was too big." My tone was full of sadness.

"Well, my dad relapsed two years after the operation. This time, I also want to ask the doctor to help me think of a way." A middle-aged man said.  It is estimated that he was the one who asked the question just now.

"It's okay, it's okay. Recurrence doesn't mean it's hopeless. Look at me, when I had cancer, some people thought I was hopeless. But, am I living well now?" The middle-aged woman said again  Enthusiastically relieved.

"Then, what did you get?" Halfway through the conversation, I realized that I was asking a little presumptuously.

The middle-aged woman had a very cheerful personality, and she replied indifferently, "**** cancer."

"Then why are you alone?" I asked in surprise.  The implication is, why is no one accompanied?

"Look at me now, do I need someone to accompany me?" After the middle-aged woman asked proudly, she continued, "Don't look at me as if I am fat now. In fact, after getting cancer, especially at the time of surgery,  It's getting thinner."

This living example of success in front of me made me see hope again, so I asked a little excitedly: "You, how did you recover so well?"

    "Take Chinese medicine!"

After hearing the simple and direct answer from the middle-aged woman, I asked in a daze: "But my dad said that taking traditional Chinese medicine would make his whole body feel weak, and my dad didn't seem to have obvious effects after taking traditional Chinese medicine. Why is that?"

"At the beginning, it may be a little uncomfortable, but if you persevere, it will be fine!" An old man rushed to answer my question.

"Master, hello, I don't know if you are accompanying, or?" I asked with some doubts.

"What do you think I am here for?" The uncle asked jokingly.

"I see that you are alive and well, so you probably came here with your family." I replied with some uncertainty.

"Wrong. I'm here to get medicine from myself." The uncle's words were full of pride.

"Your old age is Guigeng?" After hearing what the old man said, my doubts became even more serious.

    "I'm in my seventies"

Before the uncle finished speaking, I interrupted him with a firm tone.  "Then your old age must be a little problem!"

"Small problem?" The uncle said in a very disdainful tone, "I have been operated on twice. Do you think it could be a small problem?"

I feel like I'm a little confused.  "The knife is opened twice?  So what's wrong with you?  "Looking at his appearance (he's improving very well, he doesn't look like he's suffering from a serious illness at all), could it be surgery for appendicitis? I thought to myself. But I didn't dare to get angry because the old man in front of me was afraid  Say it.

"Bowel cancer. After the first surgery, it recurred within two years, so I had another surgery. It has been more than ten years now" the uncle said, as if immersed in the memories of the past  middle.

Uncle's words are like a ray of dawn, illuminating my heart that has completely sunk into the darkness of despair.  In particular, the words "recurrence", "re-operation", and "more than ten years" strongly stimulated my nerves.  So I asked a little excitedly: "I would like to ask, how did you treat your bowel cancer after you got it?"

"In addition to the operation, I mainly use traditional Chinese medicine to recuperate. The role of Chinese medicine is to strengthen the body and nourish the vitality. Therefore, without the help of Chinese medicine, it is difficult to completely recover from the weak body after surgery. Otherwise, I would not have reminded you just now.  You have to insist on taking traditional Chinese medicine. The effect of traditional Chinese medicine is slow, without perseverance and determination, it is difficult to feel its effect." The uncle explained very patiently.

"My old man insisted on taking it even when his stomach was uncomfortable. Since the first operation, the traditional Chinese medicine has hardly been broken." The grandmother sitting next to the uncle said as proof.

"Is your stomach uncomfortable?" I asked with some doubts.

"Yes. Chinese medicine also has certain side effects. When I first started taking it, I felt a little uncomfortable in my stomach." The uncle explained.

"Side effects? After taking the traditional Chinese medicine, my dad said that he felt weak all over. I wonder if this is a side effect of taking traditional Chinese medicine?" I asked for help.

"The side effects of traditional Chinese medicine are generally manifested in increasing the burden on the stomach and liver. I think Chinese medicine should not have side effects that make people feel weak. But even if there is, I believe that as long as we persist, this feeling should gradually disappear.  Disappeared." The uncle's tone was quite confident.  Perhaps, this is the so-called "long illness becomes a doctor".  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
