    ?

Watching the doctor press many instruments beside the bed onto his father.  Immediately, these instruments began to operate, making "beep" and "beep" sounds continuously.  Of course, I couldn't understand the data on the instrument, and the doctor didn't want me to understand it either.  After finishing what should be done, he signaled the nurses in the intensive care unit to tell the patient's family what he should explain.

The nurse first asked us to prepare two towels, two basins (one for face washing and one for foot washing) and two stacks of tissue paper.  Such a request immediately made me busy. Fortunately, my mother, sister, and wife had already reached the 21st floor. With their assistance, I would not be in a hurry.  Unfortunately, we don't know in advance what the intensive care unit needs.  Although some preparations have been made, it is not complete.  After checking, it is just that the paper is missing.  I arranged for my wife to go downstairs to buy immediately.

"We have, you can take two stacks of tissue paper first. Now, the intensive care unit is waiting for it!"

That was the family member of the patient on the bed next to his father's south side. He looked very young, in his twenties, but he smiled sincerely.

"Thank you!" I was a little moved in my heart, "I will return the tissue to you when we buy it back."

The young man sent over two stacks of papers with a kind face.  "Take it! If you don't pay it back, we'll talk about it later."

People are so forthright, and I can't be stingy, so I didn't say any more words of thanks, picked up the tissue, and hurried to the intensive care unit.

Seeing that I had brought the items they needed, the nurse checked briefly, and then said to me in a non-emotional working language: "During the time in the intensive care unit, all nursing work is done by us.  Responsible. Your family members only need one person waiting in the ward. Under normal circumstances, nothing will happen, but if there is any emergency, you must be able to find you as soon as possible. Every day, your family members have two visits  The time is from 7:30 to 8:00 in the morning, and from 4:30 to 5:00 in the afternoon. It is best not to have too many people, no noise, and no more than five minutes for each visit. In fact, there is nothing to see, because most  Time, they should all be resting."

"Okay, I see." My answer was quite emotional, "During this time, I will ask you to help me take care of it!"

My sincerity somewhat touched the nurse's emotional cells.  "It's okay, this is what we should do." This time, the professional indifference was missing from the nurse's words.

The most frightening waiting is finally announcing a paragraph.  When I went back to the ward and told the general situation, my mother wanted to wait in the ward, but we discouraged her.  We said that there is no need for family members to take care of them in the intensive care unit. Even here, they are generally not allowed to visit.  When father comes out of the intensive care unit, he will basically be inseparable from you.  Therefore, we all advised my mother to take this opportunity to go back to rest and recover her spirits, so that she can take better care of her father when he needs it.  After hearing this, my mother felt that it made sense, so she stopped insisting.  It is obviously inappropriate for my sister and wife to pick up their children to school.  My brother-in-law was unable to ask for leave and had to go to school.  So, in the end, I was obviously the only one left in the ward on call.  Of course, excluding all other factors, I should be the first choice among the crowd.

First, my brother-in-law was on duty here for a while, while I went back with my mother, sister and wife.  After dinner and a simple wash, I came to the hospital again.

In the ward, only the northernmost bed was occupied, and that was an old woman in her seventies.  The old lady seemed very talkative.  Through communication, I know that she was in a car accident, hit by a motorcycle, and then came to the hospital.  From the looks of it, it doesn't seem serious.  According to her own statement, her knee was injured and she had difficulty walking, but there were no other major problems.  With no one to help her, the old lady was able to go to the toilet by herself by holding on to the wall.  According to my observation, even the knee should not be a big problem.  All in all, the grandma was lucky.

After chatting for a while, the young man on the southernmost bed came over.

"Where did you go?" I asked very curiously.  Because, I know, this young man must have also been told by the nurse that someone must wait here.

"I went back, took a shower, and brought some daily necessities here." The young man replied calmly.

"Go back? No one is waiting here?" His answer made me even more confused.

"Wait?" The young man seemed to be more puzzled than I was at first, but after thinking about it, he was relieved, "You will know by tomorrow. Actually, there is nothing to do here at all, the most is to send tissue paper  .¡±

"Then, if there is any meaningoutside?  "I still don't quite understand why he dared to be so bold.

"In fact, entering the intensive care unit is to deal with emergencies. Don't worry, if something goes wrong, the nurses there will deal with it as soon as possible. They will do a better job than us, and we can't help even if we are on the scene  What's more busy. What's more, the attending physician has left our mobile phone number. If we can't find us, the hospital will definitely call us."

Although what this young man said seemed to make sense, I still felt that it was a bit irresponsible to do so, so I decided to stick to my own "post".  The tissue paper was mentioned in the conversation just now, which reminded me that I borrowed two stacks of toilet paper from someone and didn't return it.

"Oh, I almost forgot, I haven't returned the tissue I borrowed from you!" I said very sorry.

"It's okay, just two stacks, it's just a trivial matter." The young man said it very boldly, which means that it doesn't matter if you don't pay it back.

Of course, how could I be willing to take advantage of others at will?  "Thank you very much, we have already bought it, and I will take it and return it to you."

The young man did not pretentiously refuse, but just smiled and took the two stacks of tissues I handed over. After putting them away, he lay down on the southernmost hospital bed and fiddled with his mobile phone.

Although it was only a short contact, the young man's enthusiasm and frankness undoubtedly aroused my good impression.

While we were talking, the grandma's son on the north bed had also arrived.  It was a middle-aged man who walked with a limp.  After he came, he moved a stool, sat in front of the TV, and turned on the TV wholeheartedly.  At this time, I had nothing to do, so I lay down on my father's hospital bed, which was the most suitable for watching TV, and followed the middle-aged man to watch TV programs together.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
