Chapter 102 Heavy Rain

    ?

    The typhoon finally passed.

The typhoon this time was a bit strong, and instead of weakening much after it landed, it lingered around.  It rained wildly all night and all day, and at dusk, I found that the community was flooded.

The front door is okay, the yard has a slope, and it is not easy for water to accumulate.  There are three steps to the back door, and the water has flooded the first level.

Under the awning of the opposite house, the white cat that often came to bask in the sun curled up underneath, just like me, staring blankly at the water that was no longer above the feet.  The rain was still falling, breaking the surface of the water into thousands of puddles.

Previously, food and water were stored, but no sandbags were stored.  I went around the house and found several bags of cat litter, which melted in water and were useless.  There are still two bags of rice, and I am reluctant to use them as sandbags.  Pillow?  Quilt?  Nothing works at all

The uncle on duty at the property management came over by wading through the water. There was water on the road outside, like a river, and the water in the community couldn't be drained, so we had to wait.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier, knocking on the glass, and it was almost impossible to see outside.  I remembered the experience of driving in the rainstorm last time

The year before last, I went to visit some friends in the East of the United States, rented a car, and wandered around every day.  I heard that a reservoir in a nearby town was opened, so I went there with great interest.  When we got to the reservoir, before the car turned off, we found that the sky was not right and it was getting dark very quickly.

? I was nervous at the time, and immediately went back on the road, which was a very wrong decision.

Not long after the car had driven out, there was a heavy downpour. The front window seemed to be splashed with buckets of water. The windshield wipers were turned on at the fastest speed, but they were completely useless, and nothing could be seen.  However, this is another county-level road, very narrow, and there is nowhere to park, so I can only drive forward by gritting my teeth.

There was a blink of an eye, followed by a deafening thunder.  I saw a huge tree trunk crashing down not far from the front left, covering most of the road.

Going around tremblingly, I vaguely saw a crossroad ahead, the traffic lights were broken, and they were crackling and dancing.  A big truck turned from the other direction and swerved in front of me.  It drives double-hop and drives unhurriedly all the way up front.  I followed behind, finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.  In this kind of weather, it is obviously much easier to follow the car than to watch the road.

In my heart, I only hope that it will go with me, and I just need to follow behind.  Unexpectedly, it was really in front of me all the time, driving slowly.  Until the rain was obviously light, at another intersection, it finally turned left.

The moment I turned around, the driver smiled at me through the glass and made an OK gesture.  I just realized that he deliberately slowed down and led me on this difficult path.

I wanted to thank you, but it was too late. After the truck turned around, it disappeared as soon as I stepped on the accelerator

The water in the community receded that night and did not come up again.  Such heavy rain and stagnant water can clear up in such a short period of time, there must be someone detour for it.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
