Although the blood glucose meter will automatically change the time, sometimes it is wrong.

For example, if a patient wants to measure his blood sugar two hours after lunch, but he has not measured his blood sugar before meals, then when I turn on the blood glucose meter, the automatic display on the blood glucose meter will be: before lunch, not what I need  :after lunch.

Although the blood sugar data we measure are generally written directly in the notebook, and then handed over to the teacher, who then writes the records.

This seems to have nothing to do with the time displayed on the blood glucose meter.

Although the specific time of blood glucose measurement can also be found on the blood glucose meter, I still feel that every time I measure blood glucose without looking at the time displayed on the blood glucose meter, I will feel guilty for doing something wrong.

But fortunately, when I told my teaching teacher about the problem I had committed in the Department of Cardiology, the teaching teacher said that the time can also be changed on the computer, and the worries hidden in my heart were greatly reduced.

But when it comes to the Department of Cardiology, I have to say a little more about my experience in blood sugar testing in this department.

I know that many elderly people in the Cardiology Department have diabetes, but I never thought that some patients' blood sugar levels would be so high when testing their blood sugar.

How high is the blood sugar level of a cardiology patient?

I don't know the blood sugar value measured by others, but I remember that when I was helping patients measure blood sugar, the highest value I encountered was 22.

    22. What is this concept?

The blood sugar level of normal people is between 3.9-6.1, but the blood sugar level of that patient has reached 22!

Because when the teacher asks us to measure blood sugar, if the patient's blood sugar value exceeds 20, we must tell the teacher.

But once when I told the teacher, and the teacher asked me to tell the doctor on duty who was seeing the patient in the ward, he said: "It's okay, it's okay."

The blood sugar level reached 22, but the doctor said it was okay?

At that time, I was somewhat shocked.

However, after thinking about it later, I felt that the doctor said it was okay, and there was a reason for it.

First of all, the doctor has entered middle age (I guessed from his appearance, but I don't know the exact age.), so many years of medical experience, he must have encountered patients with blood sugar levels over 22, which is almost  for sure.

(Only during the five weeks of my internship in the cardiology department, I encountered blood sugar over 20, no less than five. If the doctor stayed in the cardiology department for a long time, maybe over 30, he has seen a lot.)

?Because in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, the blood sugar value is between 16.7 and 33.3, while in patients with diabetic hyperosmolar hyperglycemia coma, the blood sugar value will be greater than 33.3.

Compared with 33.3, 22 does seem to be a little smaller.

Patients should not be at risk if they take insulin before meals.

Moreover, a high blood sugar level is not necessarily a sign of a problem for the patient.

Perhaps it was because the patient ate something that contained too much sugar or starch at noon, so the blood sugar suddenly "surge" to a high level.

However, I'm not very knowledgeable, and I'm actually a little worried when I encounter this situation, although the patient with a high blood glucose meter is not my relative.

Because of that kind of blood sugar data, it seems to me that it is a bit high.

However, after staying in my heart for a while, I am not surprised by this situation.

Because the blood sugar is measured in the cardiology department, the patient's blood sugar level is generally above 10 after meals, and some can reach 18 or 19.

Some are good or even coincidental, stuck at the point of 19.9.

The teacher said that if it exceeds 20, I should tell her, but 19.9 is so close to 20, should I also tell the teacher?

I remember that I struggled with this question several times, but when I told the teacher, the teacher said that it didn't exceed 20, it's okay.

So when I encountered a blood sugar level stuck at 19.9 later, I just recorded it on the paper that needs to be recorded. When all the tests are finished, I will mention it to the teacher a little bit.

However, blood sugar levels exceeding 20 are often encountered in cardiology.

Maybe this is called "numbness", because I have seen it a lot, so I don't get used to it.

Besides, during the time I stayed in the cardiology department, none of the patients with high blood sugar had any problems, so I didn't worry about them anymore.

Moreover, there are doctors and nurses in the department 24 hours a day. Even if a patient suddenly has a problem, they can be rescued immediately, and the chance of problems should not be high.

Moreover, the doctors in charge of the disease are not worried. Why do I worry so much as an intern nursing student?  (remember this website??: www.hlnovel.com
