    In the thirty-eighth year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1773), the famous Xiangshan River Diversion Project excavated the Yuyuantan lake system.  Dredged into a lake to receive water from the newly opened Xiangshan River.  A sluice was also built at the lower mouth to store and discharge the lake water, and to divert the river water from the Sanli River to the moat of Fuchengmen.  Since then, every spring, sandfowl and waterfowl gather here, making the spring full of water and grass more full of vitality.

    At present, Yuyuantan Park has built an AAAA-level scenic spot. The main scenic spots of the park are composed of "Cherry Blossom Falling Valley" scenic spot, cherry garden in the west, diversion lake scenic spot in the north, Zhongshan Island in the south, and Liuchun Garden in the east.  The long mountains and wide waters, the unique environment and the relatively small history of construction in modern times have achieved the wildness of poplar trees on the mountain and weeping willows on the water bank.  ?
