Because the difference between Cold Food[1] and Qingming Festival is only two days, in the Tang Dynasty, people basically combined the two festivals together. In the Yuan Dynasty, the court simply combined the Cold Food Festival and Qingming Festival into one.

[1] "Cold Food" by Shen Quanqi. Poetry

    All the flames are extinguished in the sky, and the smoke is hidden everywhere;

I don't know where the fire is, so I feel at ease when I come.

On the day of Qingming Cold Food, every family must ban fire and hide smoke, and only eat cold food.

However, today, Xiao Er Mu Yu's teacher's home visit, how can he let him go back with an empty stomach?  Yu Yannian arranged for the butler to prepare the banquet.

Ji Xu got up and said goodbye: "My lord, you don't have to be polite. Cold food is a custom handed down from the ancients. How can I, a little Confucian, break the rules? Besides, I made an agreement with the students this morning.  Those who went for an outing in the mountains"

Hearing his son-in-law Zhen Youcai say, "It is true." Yu Yannian arranged for the housekeeper to prepare cold food and let them take it to eat in the wild.

When he heard that Ji Xu was going to take his brother-in-law and younger brother to have a picnic, his younger sister shouted to go too.

Aunt Zhen hurriedly came over to stop her and said, "Second girl, third girl, you two go back to Xiulou! How old are you, and you want to go out crazy? If you show your face, you are not afraid of being laughed at by Mr. Ji" She saw that Ji Xu was really good-looking  Meimei said to her daughter Yingying, "Yingzi, pack up and follow Mr. Ji!"

The third younger sister was unwilling, and asked, "Why did the fourth younger sister go and not me?"

Aunt Zhen said, "Aren't you older than her?"

The third sister said: "Whoever is older, whoever is older, I am only two months older than her!"

Aunt Zhen said: "Two months, isn't it too old! You are a good boy, listen to your mother, let my sister order some, go upstairs, and embroider with your second sister."

When Yingying heard that she was asked to go outing with her husband, she danced happily and entered the kitchen.  She was going to see what food was prepared and if there was anything she wanted to eat

    Yingying.

    Doucao outing.

    People are gorgeous and courteous.

towards the side of the road,

The leftover hairpin falls into Er, and the pearls and emeralds are vertical and horizontal.

    Huanqing.

? For the beautiful land, the letter, gold and gold are exhausted, and the jade mountain is dumped.

Fighting but the eternal sun of the Ming Dynasty, a pillow of spring in the painting hall.

Yingying came to the car with her servants carrying two large boxes of food and two jars of good wine.

Ji Xu quickly caught the food box and put it in the car.

Seeing that her brother-in-law, Youcai, was still sitting in the passenger seat, Yingying said, "You, get in the car and sit with your wife!"

Although Yingying is a sister-in-law, she is much more talented than talented. When she heard that her sister-in-law asked him to get in the car, she obediently climbed into the car and vacated the co-pilot seat for Yingying.

As for Ji Xu, he was still holding Mu Yu in one hand and driving the car with a whip in the other as usual.

After a while, the carriage arrived at Yuyuantan, where there are many tourists.

The scenery here is the closest to the capital, so it is as beautiful as clouds.  People bring the cooked food that has been prepared, men ride BMWs, women ride fragrant cars, come here to appreciate the beauty that nature bestows on men, and enjoy the joy that spring brings to women.

? In the outing team, the girls took advantage of the beauty and played the traditional grass fighting game.  Of course, the most active ones are those singing and dancing girls.  They are gorgeous and outstanding, they cater to each other, greet each other non-stop, and enjoy the joy of spring and the gift of beauty to their heart's content.  They run in the romantic wilderness, full of joy and unrestrained, adding rich fun and color to the festival.

? Facing so many beauties, Qingwan's joyful love arises spontaneously, and she can't help but lift her legs and want to get off the car.

Ji Xu hurriedly stopped him: "Sister, where are you going?"

Qingwan said: "Take a green trip!"

Ji Xu smiled and said, "Heh! How much land can your little feet tread on? You should rest!"

Qingwan said: "Yingying's feet are not big, why let her go? Oh, you don't like my sister anymore, you are afraid that I will follow, and it will be an eyesore?"

Upon hearing what her sister said, Yingying's face immediately turned as red as the peach blossoms around her.

Seeing that Ji Xu was silent, Qing Wan continued to tease: "Why don't you let Youcai and Qingyun follow me to play and give you two a chance?"

Mu Yu said: "I don't play with Eldest Sister, Eldest Sister walks slowly."

Ji Xu pulled Mu Yu over, stole a glance at Yingying, and seeing that she was full of affection, he blushed and said, "Sister, don't talk nonsense."

Qingwan said: "What nonsense, you didn't see it just now, the way my aunt looked at you, it can be called 'husband'Cockfights, even the emperor participated in cockfights.  For example, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty liked cockfighting the most.

Shooting Willow is a game for practicing archery skills.

According to the records of the Ming Dynasty, it is to put the pigeons in the gourd, then hang the gourd high on the willow tree, bend the bow and shoot the gourd, and the pigeon will fly out. The winner is determined by the height of the flying pigeon.

    Cuju

Ju is a kind of leather ball. The skin of the ball is made of leather, and the inside of the ball is stuffed tightly with hair.  Cuju means kicking a ball with your feet.  This is a game that the North loved during the ancient Ching Ming Festival.

According to legend, "Ju" was invented by the Yellow Emperor, and its original purpose was to train warriors.  Polo is riding on a horse and playing with a stick. It was called killing in ancient times.  In the "Famous Capitals" by Cao Zhi of the Three Kingdoms, there is a sentence "Lian Pian hits Ju Rang".  "Analysis of Jin Zhi" records that the Liao Kingdom regards playing polo as a traditional custom of the festival, and plays polo on the Dragon Boat Festival and Chongjiu.  "Golden History. Lizhi" also records that the Jinren hit the ball at the Dragon Boat Festival.  In the Song Dynasty, there was a "playing ball music" dance team.  Until the Ming Dynasty, polo was still popular.

"Continued Literature Tongkao. Lekao" records that Ming Chengzu went to Dongyuan to hit balls and shoot willows several times.  In the long scroll of "Xuanzong Xing Le Tu" in Ming Dynasty, there is a scene of Xuanzong admiring polo.  Wang Zhi, an official at the time, wrote a poem about playing ball at the Dragon Boat Festival: "Yule's thousand-gold horse, engraved seven-treasure ball. Flying with shock and lightning, Fu Fen feels the stars flow. After the flames, three victories are achieved, and the first one is passed on.  Qing Yun follows the leisurely foot, lingering around the east end of the hall." In front of Baiyun Temple in Beijing, there is also a ceremony where people ride horses and hit the ball.  Polo was also played around the Temple of Heaven in the Qing Dynasty. It was not until the middle of the Qing Dynasty that polo disappeared.

    Silkworm Flower Club

"Silkworm Flower Festival" is a unique folk culture in Canxiang. In the past, during the Ching Ming Festival, there were such folk activities in Wutong, Wuzhen, Chongfu, Zhouquan and other places.  Among them, the silkworm flower festivals of Maming Temple in Zhouquan and Shuangmiao in Qingshi are the most splendid and grand.

Maming Temple is located in the west of Zhouquan Town. It is known as the "King of the Temple" in the local area. Every year, the Silkworm Flower Fair is crowded with people, and there are frequent activities. There are silkworm gods, fast boats, Taige Pavilion, incense benches, boxing, and dragon lanterns.  More than a dozen activities, such as raising poles, singing operas, etc.  Some of these activities are carried out on the shore, and most of them are carried out on board, which is very characteristic of the water town.

    (3) Seasonal food

Because the cold food custom of the Cold Food Festival was transplanted to the Qingming Festival, some places in northern my country still retain the habit of eating cold food during the Qingming Festival.

In Shandong, Jimo eats eggs and cold pastry, and Laiyang, Zhaoyuan, and Changdao eat eggs and cold sorghum rice. It is said that if they do not, they will be hit by hail.  Tai'an eats cold pancakes and raw bitter vegetables, which are said to brighten eyes.  The Jinzhong area still retains the habit of banning fire on the day before Qingming.

In many places, after the sacrificial ceremony is completed, the sacrificial food will be shared.  When people in southern Shanxi celebrate the Qingming Festival, they are used to steaming big buns with white flour, with walnuts, dates, and beans sandwiched in the middle.  Records about folk cold food customs appeared almost suddenly in the literature of the Eastern Han Dynasty, mainly concentrated in Shanxi.  Even in the Tang and Song Dynasties when the custom of cold food was quite popular, its spread did not go beyond the north.  Jin Luhui's "Yezhong Ji" first talked about the special food in cold food: "On the day of cold food, make cheese, boil japonica rice and wheat for cheese, pound apricot red and cook for porridge." Until the Tang and Song Dynasties, people were still eating this kind of food.  Kind of cold barley porridge.

In some parts of southern my country, there is a custom of eating Qingtuan during the Ching Ming Festival. Qingtuan is also known as Qingming cake, cotton vegetable mochi, cikekueh, Qingming cake, mugwort cake, AI Ci, Qingming fruit, pineapple cake, Qingming cake, mugwort leaf Ciba, moxa bowl, wormwood cake, Qingming dumplings, warm mushroom buns, wormwood green balls, etc.  In the hometown of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian, every Ching Ming Festival must make some cakes, rice cakes and brown rice, and let the family eat them before and after the Ching Ming Festival.  It is an old custom in Shanghai to use wicker sticks to pierce the steamed pastry balls used for sacrifices, dry them and store them. On the day of Lixia, they will be fried and given to children. It is said that after eating, they will not suffer from summer sickness.  In Huzhou, Zhejiang, every family wraps rice dumplings during the Ching Ming Festival, which can be used as sacrifices to graves or as dry food for outings.  As the saying goes: "Qingming zongzi is firm." Before and after Qingming, the snails are fat and strong.  Eating lotus root is to wish silkworms to spit long and good silk.  Eating germinated beans is to win the reputation of "making a fortune".  Eating the first-class seasonal vegetables of Malan is to take the word "green" to match the "green" in "Qingming".  ?
