    ?

Ever since Xia Lian came to the makeup building, Yu Meipan never had the chance to go to the West Wing.

[1] "Wake Up Early on Zhongyuan Day" by Yang Wanli. Poetry

To take advantage of Weiliang to ask Wan Song,

    Wan Song self-heated and complained of no wind;

In the early morning, autumn and summer are already as promised,

That is even more setting sun and noon.

On the day of Zhongyuan Festival[1], Wansheng got up early.  After not seeing Meipan for a few days, he felt hot and bored all over.

Walking out of the study in a hurry, Wan Sheng found a high place and stood up, facing the green pines all over the mountain, he shouted loudly: Wan Song!  Give me some wind, let me cool down The green pine stands silently, without any reaction.

At Sishi, Yu Lu, the servant at the door, came to the study and said, "Master, the old lady is here to invite you."

Wan Sheng asked: "Did the old lady tell me what you want from me?"

"Today is the Ghost Festival, a day for worshiping ancestors. The old lady asked you to go to the lobby to worship ancestors."

"Oh, I see. You go back first, and I'll go over right away after changing into my formal clothes."

    Yu Lu responded and left.

[2] "Feelings on the Hungry Ghost Festival" Wang Kaitai. Poetry

    Dojo Pudu Tuo Ghost,

    The original Yulan ancient meaning remains;

However, it is strange that the red note is pasted on the door,

    ? Roushan Wine Haiqing Zhongyuan.

In those days, the Ghost Festival was a grand day to offer sacrifices to ancestors and save all sentient beings.

Both Taoist temples and Buddhist temples hold Purdue Dharma meetings and activities to save the dead for several days in a row; while common people offer sacrifices to ancestors, set up banquets, and celebrate with great fanfare.

The activities of worshiping ancestors are generally carried out at noon on July 15th.

In the hall, there is a big Eight Immortals table, which is filled with 24 flavors. There are seven pairs of chopsticks, a jug of wine, and seven noble cups. In the middle, there are fruit boxes and food plates. The fruit boxes are usually hexagonal columns made of hardwood.  The utensils carved with flower decorations and dishes are also carved in solid wood into a rectangular shape, with six compartments on the top, in which there are six-flavored vegetarian dishes such as shiitake mushrooms, fungus, pine mushrooms, day lily, dried shredded bamboo shoots and red dates, commonly known as "Liuweizhai".

Wan Sheng came to the lobby and saw that the sacrificial banquet had been set up, and two red candles were lit on both sides.

?The manager Yu Fu lit three sticks of incense and handed them to Wansheng, and instructed Wansheng to kneel and worship like a ritual according to the customs of Shu, inviting the ancestors to enjoy the sacrificial banquet, and wishing the children and grandchildren a healthy, safe and prosperous family.

Later, the burden paper was burned.  A stack of paper money is to be sealed into a small envelope, on which is written the address and name of the recipient, the number of envelopes received, the name and time of the person who melted the silk.  It is said that the gate of ghosts is closed on July 15th, and every family has to "give orphans to send their children".  People in Chengdu area make "flower trays" with paper, put paper money and fruit offerings on them, hold them in their hands, and read while walking in the house: "Best relatives and friends, neighbors, former residents, dead souls who are still reluctant to go back, all lonely souls in the wild."  Ghosts, please bring flower trays and send you back home!" After saying that, he carried them outside the house to be incinerated.

After all the sacrifices were over, Wansheng came to the living room to have a feast.

When the banquet was in full swing, Mrs. Yu said: "Du'er, it seems that the master is not long to come, and his 'Shengji' is doing well. When will you go home and see the 'Shengji'?"  'To what extent."

    "Follow the old lady's arrangement."

"You still call me old lady?"

"Oh, mother, when is it appropriate for me to go back?"

"I think, the sooner the better, leave tomorrow?"

"The child obeys the mother's will."

"You have to supervise well, and you can't let those craftsmen fool us, and you can't let people with bad intentions use 'humble tricks'."

    "What is a 'low trick'?"

Yu Fu said: "It's just that some people with bad intentions used 'dirty things' in the tomb to hinder the prosperity and wealth of our descendants of the Yu family mainly because it is not good for you, young master! So, after you go back, you should have some snacks  "

Wan Sheng said: "But I don't know anything about it!"

Yu Fu said: "Later, I will explain to you in detail."

Madam Yu said again: "This time you go back, take our family's treasures back, you have to put them away, and our mother and I will depend on it for our future life."

Wan Sheng said: "Then I'll hire a carriage"

"You'd better take the waterway, it will be more convenient." In fact, Madam Yu's real intention is to let Wansheng spend more time on the road, and it is best to hope that she will come back after she is married.

Wan Sheng said: "If I go by land, I can go home in more than ten days; if I go by water, I'm afraid it will take more than a month."

"Now on land, there are too many hungry people. Are you afraid that our treasures will be robbed by them?"

&nBasin is Sanskrit, "Yulan" means "hanging upside down"; "basin" means "rescue".

"Ullambana Basin" means an utensil used to save upside-down pain, and the derived meaning is: use a basin filled with all kinds of flavors and five fruits to make offerings to the Buddha and monks to save the suffering beings who have fallen into hell.  This kind of ritual first became popular from the puja of Mulian saving his mother.

For a long time, some places in my country believed that July was a ghost month, which was an unlucky month. It was supposed to have evolved from the Taoist idea that Pudu opened the gates of ghosts.  Because of false rumors, some places regard July as a month of "inappropriate things", such as not going out, not having surgery, not getting married, not buying a house, not moving, etc. in July.

    (3) Taboo

    1. Avoid hanging wind chimes on the bedside, which is easy to attract ghosts, and sleeping is the most likely time to be invaded by "ghosts and gods".

    2. Night travel, people with light characters try not to travel at night.

    3. Burning paper for non-specific occasions.

    4. Avoid stealing sacrifices, these are the food of ghosts.

    5. Avoid trampling on the ghost paper. The ghost paper is a sacrifice to ghosts. Avoid trampling on it.

In ancient times, July and a half was the folk ancestor worship festival, a festival to remember the ancestors, and there were not many taboos. These so-called taboos were attached to later generations during the development and evolution of the festival.  (Remember the site URL: www.hlnovel.com
