    ?

This great black sword seemed to have been someone's weapon, and after the fall of the Black Iron Knight, it became a size that might be usable by humans.

But Ivan's current power is still unusable. Even after he asked the gravekeeper girl to help him absorb the power in the crystal once, he still couldn't use the sword freely.

Helpless, he could only ask the grave guard girl to help him keep the sword temporarily, then walked out the door and left the cemetery.

Outside the cemetery is a path down the mountain, but there are no other monsters encountered on the path.

Halfway through the walk, I suddenly heard the sound of running water, and following the sudden sound of running water, Ivan came to a river beach.

There are large and small crystal clusters all over the river beach. The light in these crystal clusters is not particularly bright.  There is no light in these fragments, and if you step on them, they will shatter very brittlely.

The strange thing is that as Ivan went down the mountain, the setting sun that was still in the air disappeared at some point, and there was no other light source on this river beach except for the shimmering light from the crystal.

At the end of the river beach, there was a big dark river, and the scene on the other side of the river could not be seen. In this darkness, Ivan even thought that it might be a vast ocean.

He walked around the edge of the river beach, and found a very dilapidated trestle bridge in a bay on the river beach. Next to the trestle bridge, there was a large metal gong.

Seeing the gong, Ivan suddenly couldn't help but hit it with a hammer.

The sound of clang clang clang spread far away, and then a row of flames suddenly appeared on the river bank.

A dark boat came from the darkness and docked gently on the shore. There was an old man with a stooped figure and a face that couldn't be seen clearly. He lifted the oil lamp on the bow and shone toward Ivan.

    "Hmm¡ªis it a human?"

The old man's voice was as unpleasant as that of a night owl, with a hint of surprise.

"I didn't expect to meet people in this place. You came out of the cemetery? That's even rarer. Keep your wits, undead who haven't lost yet."

    "Hello."

    Ivan asked him:

"Are you the ferry boat for this river? If so, I would like to take a ride, and I would like to go outside and have a look."

"Go outside? What's there to see outside?"

    The old man hummed:

"Since the king outside closed the passage leading to this cemetery, and sent steel puppets to guard the place at the gate of the cemetery, I have no business to do. Those rulers outside are afraid to die  The old king got up and seized their authority again, so he sent all the king and knights to this place. That puppet, it is a city wall, with it, things outside don¡¯t want to go in, things inside  Don¡¯t even think about things like this, even if it¡¯s the end of the world By the way, I haven¡¯t asked yet, how did you get out?¡±

"I defeated that puppet, it's been too long, it's aging."

    Ivan replied honestly.

    "What? You defeated that puppet?"

The old man looked at him twice unexpectedly.

"Then you can board the boat, and I won't charge you."

    "Thank you."

Ivan boarded the boat and sat cross-legged in the stern.

The old man picked up the oars lying across the boat and started rowing, talking with Ivan while rowing.

"You can be buried in it, you are also a great big man, right? Who are you?"

    "I do not remember."

    Ivan replied.

"Lost your memory? That means your spirit has been snatched away."

    The old man said:

"Have you seen those lights? The light shining in the crystals on those river beaches is the spirit. In this world, everyone has a spirit in their body, and there are many unowned spirits, born from the oldest in the world.  In a tree. People can absorb unowned spirits and turn these spirits into their own spirits. When a person¡¯s spirit is taken away, they will also experience amnesia.¡±

    "So that's how it is."

    Ivan touched his chest.

"No wonder I often feel that something is missing in my body."

"Don't even think about it, you can restore your memory or something."

The old man glanced at him.

"Even if you go to grabYou have enough spirits to fill your emptiness, but those spirits are not your original spirit anymore.  Ha, but the ghostly state of this world now, if you can't remember it, it doesn't make any difference. Anyway, no matter how great your glory is, the country you stayed in is now destroyed.  "

"Is the external situation so bad?"

    Ivan asked.

"Now there is no country outside, and it can even be said that it is difficult to find people who are still alive."

    The old man replied:

"Now the outside world is full of dead people crawling out of the ground, monsters, and a group of god servants that fell from the sky. Those god servants are now all a bunch of lunatics. They kill everyone and burn them.  To be honest, I really don't understand why you want to go out, that cemetery is probably the only place in the world that maintains peace."

"You have to go out and have a look."

Ivan replied in a low voice.

The boat had been swaying on the dark river for an unknown amount of time, when a river bank suddenly appeared indistinctly in front of it.

The faint light of the stars flickered over there, but the sun was still not visible there, and it should look like night.

    "It's dark now, isn't it?"

    Ivan couldn't help asking.

    "It's dark?"

The old man chuckled in a low voice.

"This is indeed the case for this country. To be precise, it should be their favorite forever night."

Seeing that Ivan was puzzled, he said again:

"This river now leads to different countries. Now in these countries, time does not flow. If it is dark, it will always be dark, and if it is bright, it will always be bright. Of course, there are more powerful ones, that is amazing, hehe  hey-hey¡¡"

Amidst the strange laughter, the old man sent Ivan to the small ferry on the bank of the river.

"If you encounter this kind of gong, ring it, and I will appear."

The old man had no intention of going ashore, but returned to the dark river with his boat. Before parting, he said to Ivan:

"Anyway, at this time, there is no one else to cross except you, and I won't charge you any money. If you want me to take you away, just ring it. Of course, the premise is that if you don't lose your mind,  Hehehehehe"

After bidding farewell to this strange man with sharp words and harsh laughter, Ivan climbed to a higher place along the road in front of the ferry.

This place is obviously much larger than the cemetery. His feet are no longer mountain trails, but stone-paved roads and steps. When he raises his head, he can still see the city walls and gates in the distance.

Ivan climbed the stairs all the way to the gate of the city. He looked up and saw the words written on the gate.
