Song Yan clung to her windbreaker and nestled in the haystack, staring at the smoked pheasant meat on the stone beside the fire for a while, and swallowed uncontrollably.

I thought this action was a bit embarrassing. Looking at the snow particles flying outside, I asked without words: "What time is it now?"

"Probably around five o'clock." Liu Yi looked at the clouds that were still somewhat shiny outside and said.

"How do you know? I feel like it's six or seven o'clock." Song Yan actually didn't care about the time now, he just felt that the atmosphere was too dull and he should say something.

"Around November, it gets dark at about six o'clock in my hometown. It's earlier here further north, about 5:20 to 5:30." Liu Yi turned over the pheasant meat on the stone as he spoke.

"The pheasant looks quite big, but it only has so little meat." Song Yan complained as he looked at the chicken that was only about the size of two pigeons on the stone.

"That thing looks big, but it's actually all hair. After peeling off the skin and removing the internal organs, there's not much left." As he spoke, Liu Yi skewered the roasted meat with pine branches and handed it to Song Yan.

The space in the crack is limited, and only a small fire can be lit.  Liu Yi caught four pheasants and was so cramped that he could only roast them one by one.

"You eat too." Song Yan wanted to divide the chicken into two halves, but it was too hot.

"Eat your food, we have to stay here for a while." Liu Yi stopped Song Yan's movement, took a piece of prepared chicken and grilled it.

The cooked chicken without any condiments actually tastes very average.

The only good thing about it is that it is smoked with pine branches and has a somewhat pine aroma when eaten.

Song Yan was really hungry, and she almost ate a small, pitiful chicken in just a few bites.

Holding the last bit of chicken skeleton, looking at the bones with a lot of meat on the ground, I realized that I was a bit wasteful.

"It's okay, the most important thing here is food. Especially after it snows, hunting is easy." Liu Yi's words made Song Yan feel better.

By the time all four chickens had entered their stomachs, the wind outside had subsided, but the layers of snow were so dense that it was scary.

It wasn¡¯t cold when it snowed, but a fire was lit in the crack in the limited space, making the two of them sweat.

The relatively comfortable environment made Song Yan feel that everything was not as bad as imagined.

But Liu Yi¡¯s face always had a serious look on it.

Especially when looking at the thickness of the snow outside, the worry on my face can hardly be concealed.

Song Yan is a northerner after all, and he is not stupid. He quickly figured out what Liu Yi was worried about.

Asked softly: "Are you worried about the cold after the snow?"

Liu Yi nodded, leaning against the stone wall and looking at the fluttering snowflakes outside.

He said in a low voice: "The cold after snow here is something you can't experience in the capital. As soon as the snow starts to melt, it will reach minus ten or twenty degrees in the blink of an eye."

Song Yan subconsciously looked at the thin autumn clothes on her body, and her previous optimism dissipated instantly.

This outfit cannot withstand temperatures as low as about zero degrees.  The temperature can really drop to minus ten or twenty degrees, and you will be freezing within a few seconds of stepping outside.

He couldn¡¯t help but ask: ¡°Then what should we do? Stay here and wait for search and rescue?¡±

As soon as Song Yan came out of his mouth, he knew that he had asked a stupid question.

¡°The two of them didn¡¯t even know whether they were in the country or abroad, and they didn¡¯t have any rescue equipment. How could anyone come to search and rescue them.

"It's okay, don't worry." Liu Yi cheered up.

Forced a smile to appease Song Yan: "When it gets daylight, I'll go out and get some big guys back."

It took Song Yan a few seconds to realize that Liu Yi was talking about getting some animal skins to keep warm.

He couldn¡¯t help but question: ¡°Don¡¯t the furs need to be tanned? Besides, we don¡¯t have needles and threads.¡±

"What are you thinking about!" Liu Yi was amused, glanced at Song Yan and said, "Wrap it around your body to keep warm. It's really like wearing it!"

Song Yan also laughed when he heard this, making him laugh stupidly.

The snow is still continuing, and it is obviously night, but the snow layer reflects the skylight, and there is always a hazy light outside.

The two of them had no containers, so Liu Yi leaned out and made two snow dumplings and came back.

Handing one to Song Yan, he held the other and slowly nibbled on it.

Song Yan was thirsty for a long time, so she imitated Liu Yi and took a bite of the snow.  It was cold at the entrance and quickly turned into water.

???????????????????????????After a while, Song Yan hesitated and said again: "Where are youdid you bring any paper?"

In order to prevent Song Yan from being too embarrassed, Liu Yi deliberately said in a joking tone: "Sister, where can I find paper? Just make a snowball and you'll be done."

"Oh~" Song Yan responded weakly, and then there was no movement.

After a while, Song Yan suddenly let out a short low cry.

"What's wrong?" Liu Yi asked nervously.

"No, it's okay, it's okay!" Song Yan hurriedly spoke out, and then said in an inaudible voice: "Cool"

What can Liu Yi do, pretend not to hear.

A few minutes later, the two sat back down by the fire.

Song Yan was just trying to find a topic to talk about when she heard Liu Yi say: "Go to bed quickly."

"Oh~" Song Yan behaved extremely well-behaved. After gently responding, he curled up into the haystack behind him like a kitten.

Liu Yi filled the fire with a few pine branches, tightened his jacket, and leaned against the stone wall to slowly enter a state of breathing.

    "You" Song Yan's voice sounded.

It seemed that he mustered up the courage and whispered: "There is enough room, you can also come over lie down for a while."

Seemingly afraid that Liu Yi would misunderstand, he hurriedly tried to make up for it in a relaxed tone: "You have to have a good rest, otherwise I will die."

"Don't worry, I grew up in the mountains and am very adaptable to the current environment." Liu Yi replied and then stopped talking.

Song Yan knew that if he was too enthusiastic, it would only be counterproductive.

In addition, she was extremely tired. When she lay down, she felt as if she had taken Valium, and she couldn't open her eyes even when she was breathing.

The night is getting deeper and deeper, and although the snow outside is not getting heavier, the northwest wind that has been silent for several hours has begun to blow again.

In the second half of the night, the biting cold wind carried the cold snow foam and kept rolling in from the crack.

Liu Yi had no choice but to move the fire back a little, and the people moved into the crack.

I added a few pine branches to the fire and was about to continue breathing when I heard Song Yan's voice: "Cold~" (Remember this website's website address: www.hlnovel.com
